Because this is their franchise and they deemed this the best way to end it. They don't need to explain anything, if you don't like it leave.

They thought the suicide mission was a good idea at the time too, but look how that turned out.

People seem to have gotten over it just fine.

Tell that to someone who's favorite character was in ME2.

A: The game's not out yet.
B: How could they answer concerns about endings without spoiling them (and why would they want to describe, in text, scenes from a game they've worked hard to produce when the best description is actually to play it)
C: They don't want to add fuel to an uncontrolable rage of a fire.
D: They're not here to sell a game to you, if you've convinced yourself not to buy it, don't buy it.

Im farily sure there main goal for life is to sell a game to us...

 oh yeah......... <_< I meant their presence on these message boards.

I have said this in other posts and I'd sat it again: Why does every developer out there, for rpg etc. try to create a similar ending to the one found in Planescape: Torment. In Torment, the ending made sense. (small spoiler here - read at your own risk: The nameless one found peace in death....that's why he did what it did and voluntarily died). For such an ending to work, it has to make sense in the framework of the game - and I'm not sure that it does this within the frame of ME3.

However, I'll this as well: the game, ME3, apparently, ends with several endings which all are open endings, it seems. Meaning that we don't know what is the fate of Shepard or the crew or Earth maybe, too? Narrative or story wise this a great way to set things up for either expansions or dlc...

No post game DLC or expansion coming for ME3 my friend.

Isn't it a valid question to ask though? Why not address fan concerns? I mean I took a video game break through highscool. I didn't even know what DLC meant until two months ago, so I'm not the most educated on these things. All I know is they put this front up about caring for us, and then this, silence, that was my reason for posting. I f they want to lockdown the thread I got my answer from you guys. A.) Im an idiot when it comes to the gaming business... and B) All bioware seems to care about right now is sales and $$. So lock it down!

I tend to agree. Unless, of course, they see an opportunity from all the backlash concerning the endings themselves or how the endings were handled/written. Many would pay for "alternate endings" DLC.

Because like with ME3 their choices won't matter, they can either stay silent and have peoples CC get charged before they realise they've been screwed and return it, or they can tell people not to buy the game because they ****ed up and lied through their teeth while promoting the game.

The first option at least shows a nice "day one sales" graph on their resume.

Because:

1) The game hasn't come out yet
2) We haven't played the game
3) It's smarter to keep silent until the official reviews come out......

Because fans are annoying, whiny, ungrateful douchebags who will never accept anything but their each individual interpretation of what the game should be. Bioware could put a gold brick in every box and fans would complain that the box was too heavy.

So why bother responding to them

I'd prefer 3) It's smarter to keep silent until players finish the game every way possible.

"Official reviews" are... meh.

I can accept that characters from ME2 have gone on to help out other factions. It's lame writing, but it's acceptable.

The ending (because adjusting the same cutscenes by ~10% doesn't constitue as diverse enough in my vocabulary to call it "endings"), however, is just horribly written in the first place with a large gaping plot hole that isn't resolved, all the while trying to tug at heart strings while giving people the impression of imbreeding and painful starvation of (mostly) beloved characters.

More like Bioware telling us that there's a gold brick in every box but when we open it there's just a handfull of diarrea.

Our choices won't matter jack **** but they've told us through 3 games that choices will drastically affect the end of the games. You could start at ME3 and just do the bare essentials and rush to the end and get the same frickin endings as if you've played through ME1&2.

It's like a car-salesman selling you a brand new ferrari because it goes fast and when you get it you open the hood and find an engine from a T-Ford except in this case a guy walking by tells you about the engine before you buy it in full but you've made a deposit (ME1&2), you try to talk to the salesman but he just ignores you.

Lets wait until the game comes out and decide whether or not we got screwed over. I know I will be. There is just something about this whole leaked ending situation that seems... off for lack of a better word.

Because they can do nothing about it now anyway. Makes sense not to comment. It also makes sense to put up a banner saying bashing devs/mods = ban, no questions asked. Flame Shield ON. That's all they need. Smart.

They didn't answer fans concerns/complaints about ME2's story so there's no way they're going to answer the ones about ME3 when they are far more vicious and much greater in quantity.

And you know your choices won't matter jack because of leaks and random ppl on the internet saying they have datamined it. It seems like it comes down to a matter of who you believe. Which is completely subjective. Do you believe BW (obviously you don't)? Or these other ppl, who may be well intentioned, but don't have everything straight.

In either situation, you haven't played the game yet, but you're willing to get yourself all upset over hearsay.

If BW did come out and try to clear things up---in a non-spoilery way---it would be misunderstood; taken out of context; or, they would be called straight up liars and effigys would be made.

The hard core ME fans have really shown themselves to be almost impossible to please, to downright vicious. If it were me, I;d be saying, "Shut up and take your money Back."

The hard core fans freak out so easy. The winds changes direction, and they're wringing their hands.

Play the game yourslef, with your import and your choices b4 yelling about how it's the end of the world, and it's Teh Conspirseez.

They aren't going to respond, because the game is no out yet. It doesn't matter that a handful of Space Editions are out there and a small number of people have played it. A majority of the people on this board have not played it.

It's entirely possible that Devs reading these threads whole heartedly believe the rioting will die down once everyone experiences the game and its endings for themselves, but let's be honest here. Even if people who play it still decide they hate it, they still won't respond. They won't have to. They are still going to make money wether people like it or not.

Because BW is on a path of their own destruction, they hate their current fans, and the best way to get rid of us is give them a reason not to come back again,
Give 'em a sh!tty Ending
When they are not happy with it lock the threads down.
When they continue to be not happy, they tried the carrot, so they pull out the stick
the Stick is the Ban Hammer
When the Ban Hammer falls it's the finale straw for many of the long time fans.

No, I'm willing to trust the leaks because several different sources including people with the space edition are pretty much confirming these endings while bioware sits silent. If they could deny a sh*tstorm of this magnitude with the truth they sure would do it instead of changing their forum policies to "shut up or get banned".

My choices in the previous games won't have any impact at all, THEY flat out LIED to us for years to promote the game, there's no doubt about it.
