So because it has been that way since forever, it's okay if it stays? Are you aware that that's a pretty bad opinion to hold?Legion64 wrote...
Are any europeans here not aware that this has been going on for years? Or have they finally just figured this out? You've delt with it before so I am sure you can deal with it again.
Deal with it, son.
What's the logic behind releasing the game later in Europe?

No.
It is pointless tradition which we should get rid off. And finally due to Interwebz and digital distribution we have
chance. What is the point to make different release times on Origin when with simple VPN trick everybody can play on March 5th?

I don't care if it stays or not. What I want to know is why people are starting to make a big deal out of this now? There were very few complaints about this with ME2 and many other games. If they didn't complain before, then they must have not cared until out of the blue, people are flipping out over it.

I'm not trolling, and yes, I'm perfectly aware that this is a standard practice, but in the age of digital distribution, there's ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO DO IT.Vengeful Nature wrote...
I don't usually accuse people of this, but OP is probably trolling. The vast majority of games get released on a Friday in most of Europe. It's not just Bioware (anyway, EA is the publisher). The only exceptions are very big releases like Call of Duty and Halo.
I agree with you in the age of digital distribution they is no reason for seperate release date i thought the whole point of digital was for instant access.
However you couldnt do this with games that are being released on Physical format as this would just fracture the user base more.
But even steam and many Digital platforms stick to this old fashion and outdated release schedule, its a case thats how its always been Tuesdays US and Fridays for the UK.
I do believe some places in Europe will be getting the game on the 8th.
It e a pain try to dodge the forums and varous other places so dont get a load of spoilers over the 3 days we have to wait, i guess least on Bioware people who have the game will have there own forum to chat about the game. which only people who register the game can access.

I can deal with these 3 days, sure, but don't tell us to suck it up when you yourself don't have this problem. The rest of the world wants this game just as bad as NA, you know.
It's a ridiculous practice, it's 2012, not 1900. There is no need for this difference, especially with digital distribution.

Just So you know it not suddenly appeared this complaint i remember it being moan about in the Snes days, hence why in the UK alot of people got games on import as well as the games ran faster than the Uk counter parts.

You are right. But that is just a matter of logistcs. If they can supply retailers in huge USA and Asia to be ready on release, they can do the same with Europe. It's not like in Europe we need to wait until cargo ships will pass oceans. Not anymore:D

By forcing it and setting an example. Why keep an archaic habit in motion when we can do better than that? They've already got the means to it, so they just need to step up the plate. EA is one of the largest distributors in the planet, and I'm pretty sure they know that doing this won't do anything but increase piracy, which they undoubtedly loathe.bwg888 wrote...
I'm not sure why to the OP this seems like a tragic abomination that needs international rallying behind it... there are plenty of things that are still done out of habit or practice that would be a colossal hassle to change, as incredibly convenient and useful as that change might be. Income/savings tax is one. Pretty much any economist worth his salt (or worth anything) will tell you that a consumption tax is so much obviously better that it's crazy. But that kinda overhaul is a nightmare, I don't even know how you could attempt that in a first-world democracy. An example more specific to me, I guess: Forcing Americans to actually assign uses to traffic lanes (passing, cruising, slow/exit/entry) would also increase efficiency so incredibly much, you couldn't even imagine. But how you gon' do dat?
Do you think they don't have the means to ship it to EU in time for it to be a worldwide release? You're wrong. They do. It's just a silly display of yesteryear they're still keeping up for no apparent reason.

There is no any logic at all. Just old habit, custom or tradition whatever we call it.
Some publishers dealt with this idiocy: Skyrim 11.11.11 all over the world.
Only reason I can think of is that EA don't want all PC players on Origin at the same time worring about servers crash.
Untrue released 11/11 was not UNLOCKED by Steam until December 6 th in most of Asia .
Only reason i can think for misinformation is .......

Funnily enough, one of the main reasons for piracy is the delay in release in different regions. So honestly, Bioware/other gaming companies that do this are going to lose sales for being jackasses.

It alot easier to blame them than a continent dont you think i dont see how a land mass effects release schedules but retail stores can take there fair share of the blame.

I think people are forgetting that the
digital distribution is only a part of the games sold. The vast bulk
of sales are still likely consoles and need the physical media. I am
sure they don't want to deal with the hassle and PR problems if digital
distributors got to release their products days in advance of the
physical retailers.
And what is the problem? Just supply retailers earlier and release at the same time.
