I have been experiencing a lot of game lag (not web browsing) while playing ME3 online. I had such bad lag during one match that I was somehow able to play the game and see what wave we were on, but I lost the ability to reload or grab ammo and I could do the throwing animation of the grenade but nothing would come of it. I have also had periods of times when I would just run around and everything would be running in place and then bam, I am dead or the wave ended.
I thought maybe the best solution was to have ME3 have open access through my router for online playing.
I have access to the router to add those applications, however, I do not know the necessary information to complete:
Protocol: TCP or UDP ?
Port (or Range): _______ to _______
Protocol Timeout: _________
Map to Host Port: ________
Any help would be appreciated.
Also if someone has a better solution, please let me know.
Thanks!

I have this exact same problem as well. Its behaving as if I have erratic but constant lag spikes up to 5k ms, but I never get disconnected. I don't have any problems like this with any other games I have ever played, so its not my connection. If I am the host, I experience no problems, nor does anybody else in the game. Only occurs if I am client to another player.

DANGIT, you stole my exact post i was gonna make into a thread! xD
It's required for these ports to be opened with ONLY TCP, not UDP.
I also was told to use the command line (windows key + R) then type cmd and hit enter and type in
ping easo.ea.com
now, im not sure why I was told to ping it after and before forwarding those ports but i did it anyways for safe measure.

From EA Help:
"Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts.
I apologise for the inconvenience caused to you. If you're encountering connectivity issues with Mass Effect 3, a good first step is to ensure the proper ports are opened. The UDP Ports that need to be enabled inbound & outbound to play multi-player:
UDP Ports: 5659, 6000"

could be port forwarding, could be terrible netcode. I don't experience stuff like this in games like Starcraft 2 or MMO's and i haven't set up any port forwards for that.
ofc that's a proper client-server model, could be some issues with the game being client hosted and bioware having little experience with such multiplayer games
