Hey guys, look, even if the ending sucks, the game is still pretty good.

Now this is an interesting conondrum.

Does this mean that Lunatic LK47 is a sadly irrelevant, pointless existence whose words and opinions have no merit because his (or her) death will likely have no greater meaning than to ultimately turn into worm food?

Or could Lunatic's logic be flawed, and a person's experiences and journey be meaningful and valuable despite not going out in a blaze of glory?

Dean, you clever b*stard.

I'm not sure which one I like best!

/renegade

Huh. I forgot you got converted.

Imagine that.

Uh yeah, except considering the Reaper invasion is stopped, they should have a chance to that happy ending. Are you going to tell me that every World War II veteran having a stable life is nothing but fantasy? You're completely delusional.

They made the sacrifice in order to stop the invasion.  The position that the crew and Shepard are in at the end IS DUE TO the fact that they stopped the invasion.

Nobody said anything like what you're suggesting.

Go back to your fanfiction and fantasizing on Deviant Art and come back when you grow up.

BioWare wanted to send a message in their art.  They wanted to tell the audience that freedom is worth a price.  Sometimes you need to sacrifice and sometimes the greater good is worth being completely selfless.

Is that concept that foreign to you?  Are you that immature and lacking in empathy to realize that the lives of 50 people are worth trading for the lives of BILLIONS?

Yes, if the leaks are true Shepard dies in most endings.  Yes, the Normandy crew is stranded on an unknown planet.  But Shepard did what (s)he set out to do - save the galaxy.  That should be what matters.  Not what happens afterwards.

Tell that to the thousands of artists on DeviantArt. I should have an option to have that happy ending if I want it.

I know that a lot of people play Bioware games because the love the character interaction, especially the romances.  I understand that the people that love the romances want a happy ending where everyone lives.  Part of me wishes there was an ending where everyone did for the people who really want it.

At the same time, I think a lot of those people are missing the real focus of the game's storyline.  It wasn't the connections you made (although they're important), it was stopping the Reapers.  Ending the cycle of death.  Creating a future where every 50,000 years trillions of people would not die.

Probelm is if I didn't care about the characters whatsoever, I would not have ever bothered finishing the game. As it is, I'm very ****ing picky about my games, and Mass Effect is the game I play the most out of my entire gaming library since 1995. Pardon ****ing me for wanting a satisfying ending with some type of pay-off. If I at least have an option of Shepard getting stranded with his/her LI, I'd be ecstatic. Sure, stopping the Reapers is a primary focus, but I want my extra motivation for that victory to feel legitimate.

A happy ending in this kind of story is not pay off of any kind.

Might as well tell the entire BioWare fanbase that they made a mistake showing any interest in Mass Effect.

In my opinion, they SHOULD have included some kind of "happy ending." At least everyone together or something. I feel this because they put such a heavy focus on player choice and consequence. While I would not have picked it, I think it would have been a viable choice.

Of course, I'm not cursing and calling people pricks over it.

Agreed.

I laugh everytime I see ****. There is a lot of blustering and internet rage that someone feels the need to convey through words that require asteriks. And on top defends his points with generic insults. At minimum be creative about it.

Is this some perverted form of mission creep that I do not understand?

He made his views on the game and on us clear and was adequately rebutted afterwards. Why does he continue his mission?

Sounds better than my assumption.

My view was that **** meant "Crap I just ran out of words to properly articulate myself and I need to come up with something".

Lotta rage going on because somebody's not going to get their fantasy of retiring to make blue babies with Liara.

(Replace "blue babies with Liara" with your chosen LI, if that's not the case)

Sadly I knew deep down that sacrifices were going to be made I may not be a fan of the endings I saw, but you what I accept them. I'm love still gonna play Mass Effect 3 and probably gonna love every minute of it; I want see how this all plays out.
