I was wondering, if it would be effective to have a group which all had summoning skills of some sort.

I'm not afraid to use the respeccing mod. (Simply because I HATE wynne :D)

My group would consist of:

me: AW/BM mage - Tank, sustained-buffer, and using the Animate Dead ability as my summoned pet.
Morrigan: SH/BM mage - Healer, sustained-buffer, active buffer and also using Animate Dead.
Leliana: BA/RA Rogue - Archer, CC'er, Sustained-buffer, and using any of the summonings
Zevran: BA/RA Rogue - Archer as well. Same as Leliana but using different variety of buffs of course.

So that would give me 4 pets, a ton of very strong buffs, and enough CC abilities to go around.

So what are your thoughts on this?

How many sustainables are you using for yourself and Morrigan?  From a mage standpoint, you are looking at a severely diminished mana pool, so unless you pump up Willpower, you might have a few issues there.  You are going with Blood Mage, so that helps negate that problem, but I would still be wary of running out of mana/health.

What other spells for Morrigan are you taking?  Since you're the tank with Arcane Warrior, will she have any damage spells, or will she be focused entirely on buffing and healing?  Since she is already started down the tree, you might want to finish out the Hex line with her;  Misdirection can shutdown some bosses while your summons deal with the little guys, then shift to Death Hex to finish off the boss.

This build is basically an army build, from what I can see.  It seems like it should be playable (and by that I mean that you can use it effectively without worrying for the safety of your keyboard or monitor).  In all honesty, some of the most fun times I've had in gaming was playing a summoner type character and raising up an army to go toe to toe with large groups of enemies.  It should work, in theory, so hopefully you'll enjoy it and keep playing with it.

The only issue that seems really iffy is how much damage you can inflict versus how much damage the enemy can inflict.  You might get caught in a situation where you can't keep up with the enemy's damage output, and so you'll end up constantly re-summoning.  If you devote your archers to debuff shots you should be able to get around this, but I can't say for sure.

All in all, it looks like a solid build; skill choice is going to be key though, so you might want to save up a few levels worth of points, save, and then spend them all at once so you can just revert to the save instead of repeating everything all over again.

Hopefully this build works for you and you have fun with it.  It won't be as strong as some of the power-builds I've read about, but in all honesty, who cares?  As long as you can play it without getting frustrated to the point of computer abuse, and you enjoy the playstyle, I say go for it.  I'd love to see some screenies if you get the chance.

Animate dead cancells your Rangers pets and vice versa on the 360 version. Don't know about the PC though. Which I think is bloody stupid. I was going to try a similar team build for kicks, but assumed that Bioware would only let one pet per team. Can you have two Ranger pets out?

It totally works :D:D

Only 1 pet at the time, per ranger though (but that was expectable)

It works until you zone. Simply going upstairs in a house will cause you to loose all 4 pets, have no corpses from wich to replace the undead and worse of all you'll have to redo the tactics for your bears each time.

I've got faith that bioware will fix pets some game soon. The fixed the camera mode mess that was neverwinter nights, so anything is possible!

For now though this army build is imposible on console and frustrating as hell on PC.

Does Animate Dead work with Ranger pets in your party on the PC version? Because whenever I try it on the 360 the Ranger pet shuts off. And If I have Animate Dead running then turn on Ranger pets it will shut off Animate Dead. Is it a glitch?

Edit: 360 glitch it is then.

...you put it on 4chan's /b/? It's been 3 hours and already gone. Heck, I'd expect it to be gone within 1. Why not their video game directory, if nothing else?
