When starting a new match, has anyone ever?

Personally I'm fine with it (aside from the dead before fully loaded bits). I felt bad getting credits from Rnd 3 that I didn't earn, but I hope I made up for that.

Personally I think it should happen more often. It's the only way to fill games when someone DC's or you start shorthanded. I usually am ready for it now. I can tell it going to happen because my controller starts vibrating from getting shot before I leave the loading screen.
Yea good point, I'm all in favor of having someone added to my games when someone else disconnects. And if I'm in favor of that than I have to be ready to get thrust into ongoing games myself.

A couple of days ago I was dropped into a silver match about 40 seconds from full extraction. Didn't really feel I earned the 100k+ experience for that one.

It certainly should. I can't imagine how much time this has saved me, given that I've got lucky and joined matches in the last 20-30 seconds before extraction, sometimes even on gold, and gotten the full experience reward the other 3 players have managed to accumulate for the whole run.
Then again.. perhaps it shouldn't. It always felt really cheap when that happened to me.

I wonder if anyone else has experienced this. When starting/joining a new match, instead of being taken to the lobby, you are just thrust into the middle of a battle. No word on what wave you are on or which map you are going to? It's not a big deal but is rather disorienting being thrown in the middle of a firefight like that. Is this something that will be corrected on the full game or will this be par for the course? Any ideas?
What is there to correct? Hit escape to see the wave number. The map is pretty obvious when you look at it... but if you choose to play on a specific map rather than random I believe it will only ever put you on the specified map.

Plus, I like being on the other end of this. When 2 people leave on wave 7, and 2 more people come, I'm thankful for the system, not mad about it.

It feels cheap, but you didn't do it on purpose, and you didn't detract from their game. Plus, if you'd joined in wave 3, no one would even notice. I think it's a reasonable system. I've only been thrust into really bad situations this way a few times, and it was more funny than frustrating. I spawned right on the landing pad during a chain-revive session. 5 revives in a minute 30. Oooh yeah. One medal baby, 100k experience.

That's quite a frequent thing too. I rationalise it as the players having major difficulty surviving and keeping each other alive, to the point where one person ragequits. The next person who does a search for random matches finds themselves in the immediate position of having to revive all three of the others and barely succeeds if ever.

Yeah it's quite exciting getting thrown into a random match like that.Chaoswind wrote...

I have been dumped in on a game that was in round six on silver and ended up getting first place somehow. I have no idea how that worked because I didn't think that there were enough points left to even score that high. But what annoys me is when I get dumped into a game which then everyone dies and quits on me so the match resets.
You probably found yourself in the following situation:
- A match is set up with 4 people.
- Only one person is doing any actual work.
- The others are doing absolutely nothing and sometimes are AFK.
- The guy with the points notices this, and ragequits - taking his points with him.
- An empty slot is made, you come along and fill this slot.

When you spawn next to two Atlases, four Phantoms, a couple turrets and a bunch of other goons - it's not
What I would like to have is the option to view the info about the match you're joining. When I go online, I'm usually asked to join a friend's game. But I do not know what level, what characters, classes, how many players and so on are in the match. I think it would be helpful to know these things in advance, so you can spec your character accordingly and/or select a class that complements the others already in play. Shouldn't be too difficult to implement IMHO.

Being dropped right in the middle of a match is fine. You don't have to wait for people to ready up. lol
It can be infuriating though if you're in a 3 person team, because a lot of folks start the search and then immediately run off the the toilet to take a dump or something. Normally you'd only see this as folks not readying up - but when dumped into a match you'll get a dude joining who is AFK from the start and promptly dies. By the time he comes off the toilet, the rest of the team have won the match and his character maybe gained a level or two.
Levelling while you (are on the toilet) is never a legitimate strategy. This problem seems to actively encourage it.

I don't do random matches on gold (yet).
There needs to be a lot done with the system - text chatroom (either via origin or ingame) and groups, to name two things.
