The ending is brilliant. Shepard controlling Reapers and converting into a computer program. BRILLIANT.

It will.
Someone posted a thread with why they supported the endings.
Either Stanley or Chris locked it, stating that it had "degenerated" into people bashing the endings, as if we're inferior.

Injecting nanites is not exactly what your average sane person would call 'space magic'.

That last one seems like a pass-off.

I don't know where to find the script, and I don't know where to look if I do find it.

See? 98% of the people raging havent even read the script. Just reapeting what they read.

I assume the videos and consistent information I've found reliable. I know the beginning, small parts of the middle, and the ending. not much else.

I also know that the ending is doomed to fail and there are small rumors that Shepard can get to Earth without going down with the Normandy.

please dont compare Twilight to happy endings as Twilight has more angst then this entire game

But it ends with everyone prepared to battle to the death, the main badguys than saying "We don't feel like it anymore." Leaving, and everyone going off to live happily ever after.

Sounds pretty sunshine and rainbows to me.

Okay, I've been reading these posts for the past wo days. Here is my view.

I am one of the lucky people to have gotten one of the Space Editons (if you fanboys really need proof, I'll post pictures and video) so illput aside any doubt about the endings. They are the real and that is that.

As far as the ending was concerned, I though what everybody else thought at first! I beat the game yesterday and I was furious I had to make one of these three choices. It didn't seem fair after how far I had come. I wanted to to kill the reapers, go back to Earth and give Miranda a big fat smooch and be back in time for dinner. I knew Shepard was going to die and it pissed me off. For the next couple of hours I actually wanted to cry. I made the ultimate sacrifice and took control of the Reapers. When I saw the Normandy getting sucked up I just said the word...no. Then they lived and I felt a smidge better.

After hours of being bitter it hit me. This is EXACTLY how Bioware and the writers WANT me to feel. Empty, sad...happy the war is over. I was also sad that the journey had come to an end, it wouldn't go any further. Then I realized it made perfect sense. This was supposed to be an ending and that is exactly what it was. You can't have a war of this scale and not have sacrifice and Shepard makes the ultimate choice that, common, you all knew was coming.

The ending is exactly what it should have been and I think Bioware should be proud of making such a bold choice that got the exact reaction they were probably expecting from all of us. BTW, even if you despise the ending, the rest of the game is pure Mass Effect bliss and and I can't wait to start my second campaign.

One moment.

So you say you have the space edition. i'll assume that's true for now. Still, I have several questions which have been bugging me and I feel would be great for you to answer:
1. You do have the patch right?
2. Is the importing of the face all fixed up?
3. How do you know the normandy crew is alive?
4. So...are the rumors wrong about the destroy ending? In that if you have enough assets, Shepard can survive the story?
5. How's the average Joe in the universe at the end?
6. Lastly, you believe that Bioware made a good, (and very important), conclusive ending?

You know what else could be considered a bold choice? Surfing on the hood of a car going down the interstate. It doesn't mean it's a good choice to make. As for brilliant, they basically copied Deus Ex: HR, stripped away the illusion of choices mattering, etc.

I'm glad you enjoyed your copy and, yes, I expect I'll enjoy the game up until it ends. Knowing that I can't change the outcome of the characters I care the most about, however, I don't see any reason to play it after that. I'm actually struggling to find a reason to play the first 2 as well. What upsets me clearly doesn't upset you as much, and we're entitled to our differences on that.

I think that they could have ended it with ten grimdark endings, fifty, who knows how many, but the fact they couldn't include one, just one, where your crew doesn't end up stranded or dead doesn't seem like too much to ask, especially with the promises made regarding LIs. No one is asking for an all-inclusive happy ending...I think that, at this point, people would just be fine if their Shepard met up with the crew again, even if it's just to be marooned with them.

Jedi, I got the PS3 1.2 patch that opened up the MP servers and announcing the DLC.

My face was exactly how it was in ME2 when I uploaded it before the 1.2 update.

I did the control ending. Normandy crashes on planet. Joker, Ash and Vega leave the ship, and look at their surroundings hence alive.

I also did the destroy and synth endings, but did not have enough readiness so Shepard always dies.

And yes, I think Bioware made the right move. If you want proof I have the Space Edition, I'll PM you the link to my twitvid taken right after we got it which has the date on it.

The fans want endings worth what they worked for. Not pretentious artsy bull****. I'd be fine if this was an ending choice but no matter what happens Shepard and the Galaxy are screwed.
