The ending is brilliant. Shepard controlling Reapers and converting into a computer program. BRILLIANT.

The fans want endings worth what they worked for. Not pretentious artsy bull****. I'd be fine if this was an ending choice but no matter what happens Shepard and the Galaxy are screwed.

The control ending is a good choice. sacrificing your mortal shell to take control of the reapers is interesting and bittersweet. keyword is choice. the problem is how similar the others are to the point they are pretty much the same with different colors. you blow up the relays regardless, you **** over the galaxy regardless, you do the exact same mission leading up to a "pick your own ending" button press.
Normandy running away is just dumb in all the endings. Just thrown in as an excuse to strand your crew and inflict horrible psychological torture on them.

Thanks Jackal. Trooper, already covered that and even though I already revealed that and this is a spoilers forum, I did sign a waiver saying I wouldn't reveal much so I'd rather not say again.

Husher, coming from someone who has played the game (you), thank you for the input. On an unrelated note, for an avid completist, I would just like to ask... how many hours of gameplay can I reasonably expect on average for a playthrough? (I do like to take my time and appreciate the little nuances)

Can't remember straight, but I think it's 20 hours for a speedrun and 40 hours for a complete run not including multiplayer.

The endings are fine.

Its the blatant disreguard for the characters that bothers me.

Exactly. So what if Shepard and the whole farking crew died? Don't care, they pulled off and ending adults only will understand. An epic climatic holocaust ending, in which Shepard holds the control of the whole galaxy, best ending ever.

Maybe we didn't want an epic, climactic ending?

Transformers 2 and 3 were nothing but epic and climax over and over again, and they're both trash movies. Battleship will be the same way.

The ending defines what an climatic epic and holocaust ending means.

The specific ending he's telling about is also Matrix copied.

I agree that epic doesnt make a good story, its just a spice to add onto a good meal to make it better.

But battleship has alot of potential as a comedy. They shoot literal pegs afterall. :P

The biggest problem I have with the endings is that it literally makes all of your choices, at the end, utterly worthless. After all the times they said that our choices shaped the story, shaped the ending, we get that "NOPE! All of your choices for the past 2 games means nothing." Also, I'm sorry but I do not consider a direct copy of the Deus Ex endings to be brilliant.

I like to take my time as well and do everything before the final mission and it took me 42 hours in all.  I also made a mistake in the beggining stages of the game which made some of the side missions void so those would probably add a few (maybe 3) more hours to the game.
