I could be wrong, but I thought some codex mentioned that the Tevinter mages reached the Golden City through the power of blood magic. Ergo, without blood magic, they would be unable to enter it's glorious halls. Andraste lead a holy march against the Tevinter empire because it was full of blood magic and idol worship, things that the Maker was displeased with.
What you seem to suggest goes against what the Chantry teaches. You don't doubt the Chantry... do you?
For all we know it was the elves who messed up the Black City, and Tevinter's blood magic is the only thing that saved humanity until the Grey Wardens came along.
To say nothing of the fact that the Joining could be said to be a form of blood magic, merging the lifeforce of the archdemon with your own through blood...

They may even just be imaginary constructs made for my benefit.

If you kill these (relatively innocent) people you ****** the sarge off and he won't give you more quests, no?immeyourenot wrote...
Well after that I vowed never to kill the Crimson Oars again on any other playthrough, my most harsh, evil characters have simply intimidated them into leaving. I don't want them to die. I like to imagine after intimidating the leader into leaving he decides maybe it's time to retire, and he goes and spends the rest of his imaginary life with his loving wife, raising his children peacefully and happily. T.T
No, I think you're thinking of the White Falcons, another mercenary group who are causing trouble in another inn in Denerim >.>
Sarge asks you not to kill them and I don't think I have yet, just robbed them before sending them packing. I wouldn't feel bad if I did kill them though because if you let them live they ambush you with a bunch more guys, that's what you get for showing mercy.
The Crimson Oars are in the tavern that is in the market discrict in the room with the Blackstone Irregulars guy and they're doing nothing to hassle anyone, they're even in a seperate room to the rest of the tavern.
The thing which made me feel worse is that Sarge ASKS you to kill them, not spare them, because the nobles who go to the tavern like a bit of "sport". I felt so dirty the one time I didn't just persuade them to leave. ><

Or you could be grateful for the fact that she saves your's and Alistair's lives, allowing you to be together. I'm sure she wouldn't touch Alistair with a ten foot pole if it wasn't absolutely necessary, I know I wouldn't. But then I have some gender issues involved.SarEnyaDor wrote...
When Alistair, me, Sten and Zev went to Flemith's and decided to trick Morrigan and didn't kill Flemith.... then later on she said how she felt like I was her sister and how no one was ever so thoughtful and kind towards her.
Man, I felt like I was 2 inches tall and literaly considered reloading to a point 8 hours previously for a second, until I remembered she was going to sleep with my man soon and the guilt crazy enough evaporated.

It is because Edwina is a bitter, bitter woman.

I didn't mean for it to happen. I just wanted to see what happens if I enter Arl Eamon's room. But it triggered the event where Isolde then had no choice but to end her son's life.

regrets: executing Jowan in Redcliffe in my Rogue playthrough. then when I started playing Mage playthrough I felt pity on him.

Duh. That just totally dawned on me, couldn't remember why I hated Isolde so much (aside from how the whole demon with Connor mess is mostly her own fault for not sending him to the Circle of Magi). But yeah, I guess Conner is just an innocent in the way, so to speak. Too bad we couldn't just let the demon possess Isolde then kill her instead, would have been more satisfying than letting her be sacrificed as a martyr-type by Jowan.

Isolde sent him away to become a templar, thus according to him ruining the better part of his life thus far.

If your character has high enough cunning score you can realize he's really angry because he failed to protect the son of his foster-father and bring it up ("it's about you and Arl not me at all, isn't it" or something to this effect) which limits the damage somewhat. Like pointed out he doesn't care as much about Isolde because she wasn't exactly nice to him when he was a child himself.leonia42 wrote...
Meh, I killed Connor, I wasn't about to let Isolde sacrifice herself so that she didn't have to worry about facing her husband later about all the lieing she had been doing. I made sure to keep Alistair out of my party but afterwards when I got back to camp he was REALLY angry, like almost as angry as when you consider not killing Loghain. I felt pretty bad about that, not really sure why he cared so much about Connor instead of Isolde though, but boy did I feel guilty losing approval over it

I found this to be something I held her in disdain for ... here she has no qualms about sending one child to the Templars, but will do anything to prevent another going to the Circle.

And yet, you still lose approval if you have Isolde sacrifice herself to save Conner.
Honestly, sometimes there's no pleasing that boy.
