Have a major problem here.  I realized that my ME3 did not pre-load, so I poked around and found that there was an update to the Origin launcher (8.5.4?)  Anyhow, I tried patching, then received an error message (patch / install failed).

So I uninstalled, and re-installed the Origin launcher from the main site (OriginThinSetup.exe, is the name of the file).

Now the error message says (on a startup attempt) "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file.  You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."  So I try to "Run as Administrator" and a different message pops up "the item 'Origin.exe' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly." (Delete: yes/no).

I've uninstalled, and reinstalled about 5 times now.  I've even gone on the "C" drive and physically deleted the Origin folder.

Is there a workaround or something?  Thanks for any help

Just got off live chat with an Origin CSR. Got the fix and am sharing the solution

In the Program files x86 folder, find the "Origin" folder.
In that folder, double click on "OriginTMP.exe"
wait a few seconds...
Double click on "OriginClientService.exe"
wait a few seconds...
Double click on "Origin.exe"

Now it should work. Did for me.
