^The main case for Merge is by an VI/AI that thinks the way to prevent organics from creating an AI that will genocide them is to genocide them and turn them into arrogant AI dreadnoughts.
Compare with Tong, Helios or the Illuminatti guy. It also helped that the world in Deus Ex was screwed from before the beginning of the game, thus any of the possible solutions was a clear improvement.I refused to play IW, I chose Dark Age and I´d get Merge in the sequel. Have to wonder what BW will do for ME4.
In ME3 any of the solutions puts the galaxy in a worse place from earlier games. Besides the probably billions of deaths and destruction caused by the Reapers.
