I'm doing my definitive run through all three ME games, but I am having a hard time deciding who I should and shouldn't romance. So... if I ignore a romance with Liara and Ashley in ME1, and stay single in ME2, can I still get with one of them in ME3? Does anyone know?
(once again, no spoilers please)

I believe so, yes. Break up with the ME2 love interest, and you can pursue either of them.

You can start a romance with Liara in ME3 dunno about the VS.

As a male Shepard who hadn't romanced either of them, I definitely saw an option to start one with Liara (I believe after the attempted Citadel coup). Didn't see any obvious dialogue choices to start one with Ashley, though.
