So, it is in stores now. Anyone read it? The reviews look good... actually, some are even saying it's the best book since 1-4. I'm not surprised, as I think Sanderson has great potential as an author and could do really well with the provided setting. Anyway, I was debating picking it up, but I'm also considering just waiting two more years until the series is finished...
For those who are lost, I'm talking about the latest installment in the Wheel of Time series.
The Gathering Storm (Sanderson/Jordan) - No spoilers, please.

Sanderson is a very good writer. As I've only read the first two books of the Wheel of Time series, I'll be passing on this.

Finished yesterday. I would definitely rank it near the top of the series by far, if not the best. Since there's only going to be 2 more books after this one, you can imagine that they have to pick up the pace quite a bit so lots of stuff happens
. I know what you mean about waiting, as I now can't wait another year for the next one but believe me, if you do read it, you won't be disappointed
(at least not overall, there are some nitpicky things
)

That's good to hear. Knowing Sanderson can write a pretty tight narrative, I was hoping for good things. Maybe I'll download the audiobook...

I quit reading WoT somewhere in the middle of Crown of Thorns if I remember correctly.
I love the first few books, but at one point Jordan seemed to have lost his focus.
Too much drag in the later books; also I disliked how the Fremen... er, whatever the desert people were called - seemed to get more and more glorfied, while the originally cool Aes Sedai turned into incompetent sissies. Is that still the case?

Aaaagh...Already?
I'm still in volume 6, lol. When I started reading the series I was expecting to end volume 11 right in time for this one.
