It's only a minor setback, but I thought I'd bring it up as a technical issue anyway, that perhaps the community and/or Bioware could address.

Essentially, I had unlocked the four specialisations for Rogues, Shapeshifter and Spirit Healer for Mages, Templar and Berserker for Warriors. My character (a Rogue) had chosen the Assassin class at Lvl.7, and I was around Lvl.13 when my local area suffered a network fault... VirginMedia services in the area were down, and I was disconnected from X-Box Live.

I didn't think this would affect my gamefiles (all that popped up was "unable to connect to Dragon Age servers), yet upon reaching Lvl.14 and eagerly choosing my Duelist specialisation, I noticed that it was missing entirely. Assassin was still present, but the other three specialisations were absent.

I was curious and somewhat panicked, naturally, so I changed over to my Mage, levelled her to Lvl.7 and looked to see if Spirit Healer or Shapeshifter were present, they were both missing too.

So, is this a common problem? I'm somewhat glad that I hadn't unlocked Reaver or Blood Mage at the time (I hate playing the bad cop, hahaha, so those are gonna be hard for me to wanna get), and it's not a major setback as I said, but still curious as to why my specialisations vanished entirely.

Many, many thanks in advance.

Sorry to necro a thread but I have the same problem. Also whenever I start the game 5 DLC errors come up and all my WH, Awakening and Golems of Amgarrak saves were corrupted.

That's a bad necro.....

Hard to help you with little info, legion. "Me too" problems can be difficult to isolate when no-one gives more information. A troubleshooter can't help much in such circumstances.

Have you changed 360s? The errors you mention seem to indicate that but you don't mention anything with respect to your particular circumstances.

I'm a necromancer what can I say?

I haven't changed 360s and the missing DLC message and corrupted import saves are the only differences.

I have deleted saves from Lelianas Song and the Darkspawn Chronicles and lost the items you get from them along with the other import DLCs. That may be the source of the problem.

Very strange then. So your troubles started with a loss in internet connectivity (or to the EA servers more specifically)?

Seeing the original issue was posted two years ago (crikey, the game's that old now....) and there weren't any replies it seems to be a very rare thing; and since there wasn't anything in the way of advice being offered by, better than myself, troubleshooters a solution may not have been prevalent.

So going back to the original post for this thread, what does it mean for a specialization to be missing? As far as I'm aware specializations are only greyed out or locked, so for them to be 'missing' just doesn't seem to make much sense to me; I get the image of an empty space with nothing there. A bit picky with language perhaps, but it clarifies things for me at least.

Corrupt save files, as you seem to be suggested, are more problematic. All I can suggest is see if you have an older save to see if that works. Thing is, a corrupt save file can also corrupt saves around it (if that makes any sense); as such the worst case scenario is that you've lost that game.

Missing dlc is odd as well; why that should happen after losing connection to the server is odd. If you haven't changed 360s then, to me, the only recourse would be to redownload the dlcs the game thinks it's missing to see if it corrects the error.

Deleting saves from the dlcs shouldn't affect the availability of the unlocked items for DAO and other modules. I would eliminate that as a possible source straight away as those are tied with achievements from those modules. In that respect have you checked out your achievements for DAO? Compare to the wiki to see if you've unlocked those correctly if you're unsure. If the achievements don't match for whatever reason then that might explain the absence of certain dlc items.

That's all I can think of at the moment.

Being connected to Xbox Live and redownloading all the DLC seems to have fixed it.

Thanks for the help OBakaSama
