You clearly don't know anything, so I don't know why you're bothering. I don't really care if your a self-proclaimed sound designer or whatever, but this: "...at around 192Kbps and up encoding in VBR format, the human ear has an extremely difficult time picking up on artifacts and quality loss.", is just plain wrong.StarHugger wrote...

Nothing wrong with MP3 format, guys, if they had chosen to go that route. Believe me, you may think you can hear a difference, but at around 192Kbps and up encoding in VBR format, the human ear has an extremely difficult time picking up on artifacts and quality loss.
Trust me. The average consumer can't tell a difference between FLAC and VBR 256Kbps. I'm not going to explain why you should listen to me, but let's just say I know a lot about sound and physics.
ME3 soundtrack now available

Aye. That's the biggest load of bull I've ever hear. I can hear the difference easily with my X-Fi Forte and Sennheiser HD 595 combo. I'm nitpicker when it comes to audio and lossless format vs. lossy MP3 is no contest. Other lossy formats offer better quality too than MP3.The PLC wrote...

Same. This soundtrack is easily the best of the three.
How would you guys rank the tracks so far?

These are clearly not battle themes though. Since I like synth a lot better, I'll probably like those a lot more. Hopefully.
You can't tell me Mars isn't a great battle theme.

Mars sounds good, but sur'kesh's combat music is still my favorite. Gets the blood flowing.

I never said people can't tell a difference. Did I? I said the average consumer can't tell. Pop a pair of headphones on 1000 people and play an MP3 followed by a FLAC or WAV, I guarantee you only a small percentage will be able to tell which is which with strong certainty.

That's probably the main reason why I can't rank it as my favorite song from the soundtrack.
