I stopped the video and noticed there are several buildings around the Monument, looks like Earth.
I guess it is very important stuff for the Reapers, and it is located on Earth... this would explain their interest on humans and why they attack Earth first... but what the hell is it?
What is the Monument with the Light at the end of the Launch Trailer?

It's the Conduit, they are using it to transport humans into the center of the Citadel so they can harvest them for new human Reaper that is being build.
