For those of you in the United North American States: time to practice your 2nd amendment rights! If the Alliance can't protect us we need to be willing to protect ourselves! Make sure that you have something to protect yoursef, your neighbors, and your family! Humans need to stick together!

Oh yeah, that's totally what we need. A regression to the 20th century.
Do you have a Cerberus poster at your house too? Humans need to stand up for ourselves, yes. But standing up for ourselves, doesn't mean standing alone.
It's time to show the other face and give an helping hand to the batarians.

Do you know how many times I encountered humans being sold as property by Batarian slavers when I did my stint with the Alliance? One time was too many and it kept happening.

First step of an invasion is cutting off communications. If it's not the Batarians who just swarmed into our system, then who? The boogeymen? Shepard's folly? The turians decide they don't want to play nice anymore?

I agree with this. However, turning our backs on them on their hour of need is not going to win hearts and minds. The only possible conclusion is the increase of hostilities between humans and batarians.
I think it's time we took the first step towards breaking this endless cycle of violence.

Who can say that we are being invaded? First, the batarians could never hope to take on the Alliance with the numbers of ships they have on Utopia. There's not even a single dreadnought amongst them. And technical dificulties do happen which is probrably what happened to our comms.
While it is obvious the batarians are not tellings us the true reason, they might actually be refugees. There could be a civil war happening on batarian systems right now and we would not know about it due to the Hegemony's policy of keeping everything a secret.

Also, I couldn't help but notice how you failed to adress my point about the Council and trade relations.

Nobody uses the Avenger anymore. The M-96 Mattock has become the standard rifle for our marines.

At least there is no chance I can run out of juice with my Avenger. Just fire in controlled bursts and I can fire almost indefinitely.

Had some of my cousins report from the city that there are some strange goings on. I've been recomending all my friends and relatives to get out of any urban areas. They're grabbing as much food, water, and weapons they can get their hands on before going to the meeting point.

If there is an attack, (a Batarian one I'm guessing, but still...) then they will not be safe areas. Orbital bombardments and invasion forces will be targeting them. Fortunately I own some property out in the country. We'll hole up for awhile until things blow over.

If they don't... Well, let's just say my statement about my belief in the 2nd amendment is something my friends and family hold dear. We will survive this.

It's days like this I wonder if it was worth those egg-heads discovering that relay...

If you can hit anything. There is a reason people use the Mattock nowadays, afterall.

Oh my God...
It was the discovery of alien races that made us unite into the Alliance. It's thanks to the resources coming from our colonies that we are entering a new golden age here on Earth. Our contact with alien medicine has allowed us to heal most of the diseases that used to plague us. Besides, have you see those asari? Hell Yeah!
I can't imagine how life must have been before we discovered the Charon Relay.

Everyone calm down. This isn't an invasion!

I served in the Marines and fought the Batarians during the Skyllian Blitz, and there is no way the squints would have the stones to attack Earth. The Hegemony knows it can't take the Alliance in a straight up fight, which is why they fought us with proxies the last time. I wouldn't be suprised if some of the four eyed freaks were responsible for our comm buoys going offline, but an act of terrorism does not equal an invasion.

And all this talk of Reapers and the end of the world is even more laughable. Reapers? Seriously?!  You are as likely be to killed by a werewolf or a dragon as you are a Reaper. No one has ever been killed by a mythological monster.

Shepard is a hero in my book and I'll never forget what he did on Elysium, but he hasn't been the same since the Battle of the Citadel. If he truly buys into this Reaper nonsense I think he's lost his marbles and he needs help.
