That character should never have been written. It was bad when we first learned about it and it's worse at the end.

The writing in this game is insulting to the base that bought the first two games with anticipation. It's like the Matrix, but with less reason and explanation.

I haven't played the game and have only read some stuff about the ending (basically the basic gist of it, as opposed to a blow-by-blow detailed description). While I will not judge it until I have played the game and seen it in context, I will say it sort of strikes me as similar to the ending of LOST. It's gutsy, it doesn't wrap up everything but it will definitively end the story that was being told, and the internet will shatter into two camps as well as a bunch of people who are just yelling and complaining just to yell and complain.

It's hard to say. It's causing plenty of fuss, but on BSN where there's a fresh storm in a teacup each week, that's hardly new. It wouldn't have mattered what the endings were like, the predictable whining from people who think have some claim to the series would have been the same reguardless. Everything is terrible according to internet forums, especially gaming forums. Better to just play the game (or youtube it if not) and make your own conclusion yourself.

I agree V The Final Battle 's space magic ending was sh** ass bad . I would say Mass Effect 3 ends worse than V ever did . at least in V we knew the Vistors were evil and here to destroy Earth .

Put it this way OP: Bioware admitted in a interview that some customers are going to be angry about the ending, so take that as you will.

My only question would be, why make your customers angry?

yeah what ever . I saw a bunch of the game today and trhe dialogue and writting in this game is so bad its not even laughable

I'll wait for it and then judge on that.In my experience in many forums people will many times use hyperbole just so people swallow their opinion either good or bad, so it's better to wait until i finish myself and then decide if it is good or bad.

you misssed the other point at the same time there is no good ending there is no bad ending ethier all thre ending preatty much lead up to the same point and that has been the real grieve agains te endings it's that there are not multiple ending but rather just one with diferent color shining

I think the endings are right. I have no problem with them. I think the issue people are having is there really isn't an option to have a 'perfect' happy ending... but in reality, there really shouldn't be. The game isn't based on the idea that Shepard walks away into the sunset. It's made very clear that this is the end of Mass Effect. I think it was the right direction to go in. The endings are solid and intentional.

Then perhaps Shepard shouldn't have been able to "walk into the sunset" after ME2. Bioware set the precedent, so why is it unrealistic for people to expect that?

That said, I've not seen or read anything about the endings. I do see a lot of people talking badly about this game in the same way that DA2 got trashed (deservedly, imo). I'll be picking up the game, but my expectations have been greatly lowered. Maybe that's a good thing.

I don't know myself. Just that other have said that there are only grey endings, no good white happy smell of roses typ of ending. No "Disney" ending, more of a disastermovie ending where everything will be OK but not great.

But that is only what I have heard. I have no idea what so ever myself because I try to keep clear of spoilers. I don't wan't it to be as with ME2 where I new the ending before I started playing the game.

because realisticly you cant please everyone

every gamer has a different taste on story, gameplay, and even endings


how is that not hard to sink in?


do you think writting a story is just simple? because if it is write a whole script for me3 to please every gamer of every genre without favoring one or the other

Take it from someone who's seen over six horus of gameplay. The demo is indicative of RPG mode in the full game.

Because old customers don't matter in busines you will already be buying the game so they don't need to please you, they don't care about you, they care about those that haven't bought a ME game before, they are new money they are the ones they are aiming at.

yeah all the usual suspects screaming about how horrific everything is, funny thing is though everyone who has actually played the game in its entirety seems to really like the game and have already done multiple playthroughs.

endings may hold if you played full renegade through me1 and me2, not really caring about anyone... if you instead played paragon, maybe you're gonna be disappointed

ugh because that's the story they wanted to tell, despite any self entitlement problems you may have this is not your story and your not at liberty to demand the direction it takes.

Absolutely horrible, since all options only allow one emotional direction. Since the writers apparently absolutely wanted to destroy their setting and alienate the majority of their fanbase, they shouldn't have bothered with more than a single ending ( with the variables win/lose ). Would have made sequels easier, at the very least.
