Would it be possible to do this with DA:O toolset?
I really like the thought of bringing the player into another dimension using an object (or a spell)

So you can always make areas as normal as they should be and transport the player with a script there.

I´m not familiar with scripting, though am trying to learn. Do you know exactly what I would need to write to make this happen?

Yes, I want to create the illusion that you are in a miniature world. So I can write a script allowing me to touch a magic object and then teleport to another level.. interesting. <br />

The tutorial walkthrough he gives, does exactly what you are trying to do in fact. He uses the NWN2 toolset to do it, but you can do it with the NWN toolset as well. It's a good place to start learning how to script.

No scaling functions in dascript so you would have to create a miniature version of everything you needed in Max (or a suitable utility). This would be easy enough for props and placeables but would be more difficult for models with animations, i.e. creatures.Yarani wrote...
I remember playing a level in NWN where you are sucked into a little chrystal ball thingy world.

So short answer is "not really"!

I suppose you'd just scale the props/placeables to be larger, but leave the characters as they are.
Doubt you can scale the speedtree trees, however, even with Max.
