Everyone on this forum read the leaked script before I even hopped on the ME3 obsessive bandwagon, and so now I feel like everyone is in on some joke while I'm just trying to make sense of it all.

So, spare me nothing. I want to know what happens between femshep and both garrus and thane in regards to them having been romantically involved in ME2.

Go, go , go...

** HUGE ENDING SPOILERS ** (can't seem to be able to use the color code)

Apparently, no matter what, either Shepard dies or is separated from Garrus eventually as he gets stranded with the rest of the Normandy and she remains on Earth.

** END SPOILERS **

Should be noted that this ending pretty much happens to all LIs, not just Garrus [ect].

Thane: /tragic bawling
Garrus: Continues as a normal romance until you get the emofest ending. [or just pretend they reunite at some point.]

Yep, all LIs are screwed. Pure sadism at this point.

I'm glad everyone shared that with me. I needed to confirm whether or not I should take the time to get truly excited about the game and buy it. Needless to say, as Bioware blatantly doesn't value it's customers, fans, and their own characters enough to give us all some sort of closure that doesn't leave us feeling like **** by making everyone die a miserable death, I will not be purchasing Mass Effect 3.

If you can overlook the ending, you'll probably love it. I haven't spoiled the Thane things, so I can't comment on him. But I can say that Garrus' romance is very nice.

The ending is probably not as bad as forums are generally making it out to be, because the ending just doesn't really tell us anything. The Normandy crash is almost pointless, so most people are just going to be confused as to what it means. You can either assume they never reunite, or hold onto the hope that FTL will allow them to reconnect at some point.

I would say this:
- if your enjoyment of the game hinges on the ending, wait before buying or rent.
- If your enjoyment of the game hinges on characterization and you can draw your own conclusions about the ending, buy it.

But regardless, there is no onscreen happy ending, just places for you to either draw your own conclusions or throw controller at the screen. It just doesn't say.

Eh, they shut the gate pretty securely on things. The only way to head-cannon a happier ending is to choose the "best" ending and ensure you've kick as many of your favorite characters off the Normandy when and if you can.

Can’t agree more with that statement. Way to alienate pretty much everybody in one swift swoop.

First time I read this title, I thought somebody was asking if Garrus and Thane have a romance together in ME3.

The answer is no, for the record. :D

I normally don't care for the endings to stories and videogames, but as this is the last of Shepard's story, I just wanted some closure. I wanted Shepard, after all that fighting, to finally be happy. With what I've read in these forums so far, it seems the lesson to be learned is: Despite how many people you help, how good you are and how how many wonderful things you do, you will end up losing and everything will be for naught.

I honestly just wanted to see Shepard retire with Garrus after the mission and actually find some peace. Something. Anything. This is disgusting....

And what's this I'm hearing about Tali and Garrus starving to death on an island?

Seriously....did they just call a board meeting where they asked "What could we do to **** in the collective hearts of everyone who has ever played our games? We really want them to hate no only us but themselves. Let's do this, team!"

Wasn't the whole Shep/Garrus "romance" basically just experimentation between two beings that aren't even attracted to each other anyway?

Honestly, if you throw out the epilogue you can do whatever you want. [Even with it, you can still make an argument.]

But the epilogue doesn't even make sense for the endings as they stand, so, I don't feel too bad ignoring it.

[For instance- why can't they travel the stars with the control ending? Reaper tech still works. Destroy ending doesn't make sense, how is Shepard alive with reaper tech if its all gone? Merge ending doesn't make sense from the start, but again, how are they not able to travel the stars being partially machine? ]

They weren't attracted to one another, no, but in multiple dialogue options they talk about how much they respect and care for one another. It didn't have to be built of physical attraction because they were friends who wanted to experiemtn with something more. Either way, that doesn't mean they can't just be happy.

There. I fixed the title.

I want to make it clear that if I can't bone Thane and Garrus, then they can't bone eachother.
