I contacted EA customer support about this issue tonight before I found the link on here for the redemption and the support guy had no idea what I was talking about. He kept sending me to the old download link that takes you to www.bioware.com. And then continued to tell me that the link on that site was working ... I finally found this while talking to him and gave him the correct information for the future lmao.

OMG thank you! Freaking Bioware/EA/Origin/whatever-the-****-they-are-now doesn't have their **** anywhere near together. Outdated web pages and broken links got me so frustrated, the fact that there's no ME1 section under 'Games' on THIS website is utterly ridiculous, so thanks for clearing it up. Stupid EBiogin.

After I searched for a working download link for BdtS I found this page but I can't install the DLC.
I have got the German version of ME so I downloaded the German version of BdtS but when I try to install it it says that the German version is not supported. I also tried the English installer but it gives the same error.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

That's a weird one. If I were you, I would first try to contact EA online support chat as described in the original post (and select ME3 instead of ME1 or they won't give you the live chat option). Tell us what kind of results you get.

Now I changed the game language to English. I wanted to do this for some times now and thought it might help but I still get almost the same error: "The version of the game is not supported"
I think that my game just has a wrong version entry. Does anyone know where I can modify this entry?
If not I will contact the EA online support.
Edit: Okay I solved the problem: My ME was not registered because my ME-Key was not accepted when installing the game. But with the BdtS fix I found somewhere in this forum I could install the DLC. Now I can finally play the DLC

That is linked to as well as pasted in the OP here already (but thanks anyway!)... which is pretty much the point of this thread. Some people can't seem to find it easily through other means, the generic key doesn't always work and many others have install issues - therefore we discuss it and problem solve here. The thread currently stickied about BDtS is badly outdated and misleading. Might be more useful if you unstickied that one, and stickied this instead.

None of these codes worked for me, and when I contacted EA via live chat per OP's instructions, my helper asked for my full first and last name, and then gave me the same keys posted on this forum. My DLC still hasn't been unlocked, this is so frustrating >

I have FINALLY figured this out! I had to verify my game cache several times until it actually stated that they were all successfully validated. I had done it several times before, but did not receive the successful notification. After I got the successful validation, I loaded up a ME save, exited then went on to re-download a fresh BtSD from the link provided on this thread.
Then I used the very simple program provided by: http://social.biowar...index/1942301/1 >> Ran this program as administrator
used the bottom key provided by this thread: BK2ST7K7NRZ3NUK5W7YL (the other keys had been "used by more than one computer"), and it finally installed!
I'm guessing my specific problem was the validity of the game cache.
This is exactly what I did, so hopefully it helps someone with similar problems in the future.

OK, I am posting this before I actually start smashing my head against the nearest wall.
First of all thanks for all the info provided thus far. I found the installer, downloaded it, I used the BK2S key and it accepted it, the installation went through without a problem.
Then I open my Mass Effect, I click on Play and a window pops up telling me the Program has Stopped Working.
I run Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 64bit. I've tried running the installation in compatibility mode with no success, I've tried the installation as Administrator, no success. I've tried killing the installation via Task manager with no success. I just can't play anymore because the entire game just won't run!
Is there anyone out there with any ideas? Pwetty pwease?

Oh, I was forgetting: I have a Mass Effect CD installed, the original one that I bought several years ago, not a digital copy. It is updated to the 1.02 patch already.
