I never said I agreed with the Reapers, that'd be silly.

They're still synthetic life killing off organic life so that organic life can't create synthetic life that kills off organic life.

The way it was worded, the sarcasm laced throughout the statement, strongly implied that the concept makes no inherent sense. It does make sense, which is why I called it on oversimplifying the idea; if anything, the Reapers' motivation for Reaping is the least potentially offensive aspect of the ending.

Well, just because it's possible to make sense of it doesn't make it good writing.  His sarcasm could have been in reference to that.  And I would agree with him.  Still, even if you believe he was oversimplifying, he was still essetially correct.  That's my only point.

Assume that they just pull a Dragon Age: Origins and put you back to a time before you destroy/merge/control Helio... I mean the Guardian.

I thought that was confirmed somewhere. Hoping there's a DLC somewhere in the future.

Sounds about right. They did say no aftergame DLC.

It's not really in the game.

So it was only an overlay from the guy who made the video?
Allright, that makes the whole ending approx. 87% less ****ty.

They also said that there would be a wide variety of choices in endings.  Apparently things change.

I am not giving up hope yet, since the game is not out yet, but Bioware's silence is making me wary.

They didn't keep their word with diverse endings, perhaps they won't keep their word about post-game dlc.

If you watch some of the other clips they can kill Reapers with conventional weapons. And there are really not that many Reapers. All of which makes the "end game" kind of silly since the damage you do is on the scale of what the Reapers would have done anyway.

Although I agree with Nathan Redgrave, I kind of like the contradition.  Guardian itself is still flawed, arrogant, and full of contradictions, despite being ancient and godlike.  It is so obsessed with its goal and so sure of its power that it doesn't see the inherent contradiction.  In addition, Guardian is wrong--peace is possible between synthetics and organics, as the geth and EDI proved.

The Reapers are the ultimate embodiment of the fear of death and the unknown.  They are so driven to put an end to chaos and establish some form of control over the evolution of life that they will commit genocide over and over for countless milienia.  By extension all three choices Shepard can make involve accepting death and embracing the unknown on a galactic scale.

I think I just made the ending(s) a lot more relevant than they were intended to be... :/

they have said alot of things and look how that turned out

prothean accidently leaked last summer and they covered it up

mutiplayer denials oviously its in

look at it from this point now. anything the devs say is the complete opposite and what that means is no aftergame dlc means there will be some

i dont look at it as a lie but i have to admit it does seem predictable and sometimes annoying

ok clearly this is a nice type of ending, even if you disagree with me. i believe bioware is trying to tell us that even this game is a war story, it won't have a happy ending to it. nothing comes out as rainbows and sunshine when a war for survival is going on. and the witney houston music, definently a cover for what music is actually playing. definently looking forward for this story.

The endings are already being discussed in many other threads in this forum. There is no need to start yet another one.

End of line.
