Most of my characters are just variations on my screen name, being the unoriginal person I am. Only two of my guys had any thought put into their names.

Krogan Soldier - Chuck. Because he chucks guys around the battlefield when he enters melee.
Turian Sentinel - Jackson. Named after general "Stonewall" Jackson

Many others, don't remember, oh yeah, I was wondering, what is the point to naming them? I mean, I'm not complaining as I love to roleplay, but I don't see any other effect if there is indeed one. Thoughts?

I did my best to give them all names that fit their race's language rules. For humans I tried to go with some mixed ethnic names and some purely ethnic names. And somehow I accidentally named my female infiltrator Tara Knowles, which I then realized was a character on Sons of Anarchy. Oof.

They all have to have unique names, so I'm thinking it's like Assassin's Creed where you send your different assassins on different missions. You get a message "Reapers are attacking blahblahblah, send a team!" and you go and grab Bob, Jimmy, and Steve and send them to take care of the crisis. Might even have requirements like you need a certain amount of tech power to hack a thing and Engineers add, I don't know, 10 tech points and Sentinels add 5 and Adepts add none. I'm thinking like they had the squad strengths meters in ME1.

I don't know. I'm just thinking.

I started with the humans, like everyone else, so their names tended to have reflected the awe I felt for the species: Meh, Bleh, Blah, and the ever-magnificent Blearg.

When I finally managed to unlock the races that I wanted to play, I had run out of first class names, so I stuck with random members of the alphabet: O, G, Z, and H.

I think there might be a Hmm in there somewhere as well.
