GS is horrible about that, I usually just tell them no thanks, I pirate most of my games, i just really like this one. Or I tell them I usually order from Amazon or something like that. It turns them off pretty quick.

And that conversation was the end of the time I was there. I told him the reason for canceling was GS.com had some CE's appear the day before release and I wanted to be sure I wasn't screwed out of preorder items before I canceled the store standard. And the store said I couldn't do a store pickup when I called on Monday to see if I could just change it over even if it meant I got it a day or so late. So his attempt to keep my preorder money was getting thin. Although I am thinking of getting Kingdoms of Amalur but I don't think that game is worth 60 bucks. The demo screamed "Get it when it's in the bargain bin" to me. lol

Finally I got my second preorder code so I can continue my play on the PC. I was liking the N7 gear rifle a lot on 360 that I wasn't going to play on PC anymore until I got it. That GS rifle is sweet. Too bad it overlaps the M55 since they are the same class so you can't equip both.

Got my pre-ordered CE today just after they opened.

Can't wait to get home from uni to install it.

Picked up my CE for 360 at the post office. Installing to HD now. No issues so far.

My 360 had small pauses in the game running off the disk so did the HD install too. But I've been playing just on PC since so I'm not sure if that fixed it.

The normal isn't 60% of the price (product + shipping) it got taxed in 135% >.<

I had to refuse it

Mine still hasn't been cleared in customs, I just hope it doesn't delay the expected delivery date (monday), since receiving it today seems unlikely by now <_<

I'm glad I have the money for the taxes since I've received my salary this week but damn this month will be hard.

But what happened? UPS gone to your house with the game and a slip or only the slip arrived?

The game and machine to pay it  "281R$, money or CC, right now"

They pay the taxes in advance to the feds, so there is also a "handling" fee...

But i did sone phone calls to see my alternatives, and either way i will lose money, so i made some calculations in here and i will be able to get it. I already called then again asking for the product, they will delivery on Monday.

i paid in full for the ce version at a mom and [op shop. its a really cool place but unfortunately he never got the game in. so when i went to pick up i was crsuhed. he did nt even have the regular edition. so i went to gamestop and ended up getting the regular edition

Exactly.

From what i talked to ppl (at UPS and others who have been in this situtation) i had 3 options.
Pay the taxes and get the product.
Cancel my order, but gamestop would have to pay the taxes and shipping cost to get the item back, and they would not accept this with "good heart", they would probably charge me.
I don't pay the taxes, gamestop dosn't accept the devolution (so, no refund) and also dosn't pay it, and the product is detroyed.

Either way, i would lose money. So i decided to stay with it.

I'd have picked in-store pick up for my CEs if there had been an option to do it online. There are at least two GameStops within five minutes of my house, but I got stuck with the terribad shipping because that was the only way to get it online.

Ah, well that's the reason I would never buy CE versions. Sure it's "only" $10 or $20 more, but then you can ONLY get it shipped it your address, and since most people are impatient and want it NOW, they will pay the most expensive S&H to get it on day 1, so then you end up paying like $40 more lol.

My game is still on customs clearance, and the last time this happened, it took a full day for them to clear it, and it was an USPS order, I thought with UPS it would be faster, but the last update is from several hours ago.
And the taxes are extremely hight, but sadly I already expected that.
