Image IPBImage IPBI am new to the game. I have spent over an hour trying to perfect my mages look, (ya im one of those people)

However, I want full cheaks, and a chinstrap beard. Just like I do IRL. However, after I am finished configuring my face, I put on a beard and all of the sudden it changes his facial settings and puts his cheak fullness to zero.

What gives?

PS:
this is the 360 version BTW.

Same here, PC, it's really bothering me aswell. It's the same with the sideburns. I am surprised they didn't see this while testing the character creator.

I'm actually curious what causes Dalish elves to have the sunken in cheeks (and puffy mouth) if they can't even have beards. Is it the facial tattoos or something? The Dalish NPCs are all normal but player made ones have that weird fish face goin' on.

i like how the Dalish look, quite cool i must say, even like it how they made zathrian's face resemble the one who does his voice, Billy Zane(another good actor) altrough they should't made him bald...

I think the work around is to change the cheeks after the beard. I tried to make a bearded character today, but the cheeks falling inward whenever you move the beard slider is a big annoyance!

I believe that once you chose to use a beard the choice to edit cheeks/jaw is blocked off.

I guess that's because a. the beard models only fit a certain face-shape. and b. too full cheeks would reach through a full beard f.ex.

Although it's a very cheap way to prevent these issues. I mena a lot of games nowaday have beards mophing along with the face, don't they?

Make the cheeks the way you want them to be then click on the beard you want to have. I mean don't drag the slider until you get to the preferred beard, click on the exact spot where that particular beard shape is supposed to be. It worked for me.

...an then watch your cheeks fallen-in the first time you see your character in-game because it's still automatically saved/uploaded that way

And do you play on a 360?

Because even when you do the face first, and save the beard for last, it resets the face back to the fish face.

I found a trick around this, at least in the PC version. This does not occur if you click the slider once to adjust facial hair. However, if you click the slider more than once, the face will automatically re-adjust.

If you remember the position the slider was in, in conjunct to the beard that you wanted, simply hover the mouse over that position and click. This bypasses the need to click on the slider mutliple times to get the same beard--and as noted previously, the face does not adjust when you click the slider once, but does if you click the slider more than once.

When the above technique is used, you can get a face that fits any beard perfectly:

<------------------- Would also like a beard fix. This does NOT look like a warrior, it looks like a skull-headed elder. (I want young tough warrior!)

I've tried the beard trick, & it doesn't work in the Standalone CC, but i've heard unconfirmed intel that it works in the main-game. I have yet to be able to try it myself yet.

Seems like if you dont have a beard style that is right next to one of the preset choices, you are screwed.

This includes the chinstrap.

This is exceedingly annoying.... just imagine how easy this would have been to fix. even if they had to give facial hair a default face, why make it a fish face? all beards would look better with more full cheeks.
