I wanted to install my game to the root directory instead of into a layered maze, but instead of offering free choice like just about every game installer out there, Origin would neither let me type out my selection, or pick the root C:\\ directory. Was this designed as a feature? I'd rather have my game files in C:\\Mass Effect 3\\ rather than c:\\Something\\Mass Effect 3\\

Origin has a path in settings you can change if you want to install your games on another drive, etc.

However, the closest you're going to get is c:\\origin games\\<game> afaik.
