I've been hearing a lot of spoilers aobut the reapers wiping out advanced organic life because they're afarid of organics creating an advanced technology that wipes out all organic life. While to me this sounds pretty cool, I have a theory that the reapers may not be telling the whole truth.

I believe that the reapers fear a tech singularity because they fear an advancement that would either make them obsolete or disrupt their own lifecycle. The Reapers, as far as we know, are incable of adapting to new situations or events, they basically cannot evolve on their own. They need organic life to create advancements that they can than add onto themselves to evolve, getting upgrades from the stolen technologies of civilizations they conquer.

Now, say a race managed to create a synthetic lifeform that managed to take over their race and become the dominate lifeform, a race like the geth who can change and evolv on their own, and who don't need organics to survive. This would allow them to not only surpass the reapers in evolution, but also enable them to destroy the reapers source of improvement, the neccisary annoyance of organic life they need to prospure and survive. The reapers would probably be screwed if a race more advanced than them ever managed to emerge.

So, the reapers kill organics before they can create the lifefrom that can rival their complete dominance of the galaxy and of exsistence, they destroy the factors neccisary to challenge them, thus allowing them to continue to rule the galaxy unopposed. They fear becomeing obsolete, falling to the same systems that organics have to face when evolveing, it would explain why they need organics to follow their path, so that factors that could outpace them never manage to fluorish. It has also been said that the reapers disdain the geth, this can be explained by their view of the geth as an almost threat, a too close for comfort lifeform that could challenge them if they had succeded in creating their megastructure, so they were enslaved through indoctrination, and would probably be killed after the cycle was completed to ensure that they could no longer pose a threat.

So that's my too cents about the reapers, they fear more advanced tech because they fear losing ot another race. what do you guys think?
