I aplogize if this has been brought up before but I'd really like to experss my concern in regards to PC controls. The majority of PC gamers play PC games with keyboard/mouse and I see no valid reason as to why Bioware would use the console control scheme for the PC version. I'm sorry but this just screams pure laziness.

Space bar - take cover
Space bar - roll
Space bar - activate
Space bar - run

Seriously?

They are lazy
No DOF option
No real AA options for people with powerful cards
No high textures options or anything "high settings"
No gamepad support
etc

Gotta live with it lol

ME and ME2 had issues too on PC they never fixed (like the awful ME2 mouse control unless you edit the ini file) which is still not fixed

It can be incredibly frustrating, and I really hope that the spacebar's different functions are split up and able to be assigned different keys at some time in the future.

To offer a couple brief examples of how it can be frustrating:

- I want to revive my squadmate or activate an objective when the object of interest is near/on a cover object. I press the spacebar with my reticule indicating that my target will be interacted with, and I instead take cover.

- I want to take cover to avoid getting pwned by that turret over there, but a squadmate is dead by the object I'm nearest. I make sure my reticule is not over the player, and press the spacebar. I begin reviving my squadmate, and die.

- I want to sprint down a hall and around a corner. If I try to take the most efficient path directly past the corner while holding the spacebar to sprint, the giant electromagnet on my back activates and I get sucked onto the wall for that extra split-second that an Atlas or a Phantom needs to take me out.

Welcome to the age of the console port and corner cutting developers.

Yeah, its annoying. As games get prettier, they get simpler because most developers seem to prefer to use consoles as a starting point.

Simple isn't always bad... but this is one of those "please add another key to use" moment.

What annoys me about the controls, is the fact that that it's plain as day obvious that they are crappy. From the get go, I could tell you the space bar is being used for to much, and that's with out playing for more than 10 min. It's beyond me how bioware didnt pick this up in development.

Quite right, mate. Simple's not a bad thing, in fact I like simple, but would it really be too much to allow key mapping in a PC version of a game?

At least ME3 gives you an option to turn off mouse acceleration.

Its awesome only until you're in dialogue and you wanna skip past all the 'junk' to the options and realise you've selected the one you didn't want by mistake.

The outsourced port of Mass Effect 1 was more PC-friendly than these internal ports by BioWare.

Exactly.

What I also find ironic is how this game doesn't even have official gamepad support, yet it has gamepad control scheme.

Perhaps, this is something that could be fixed if enough people ask for it. Though I hardly doubt they'll bother to change anything at this point because ME2 suffered from similar issues and Bioware never fixed those.
