I'm just curious, do they ever come up?
There was this leaked removed dialogue with Liara in ME2 saying that the Collector's were interested in Shepard because "she had met the Thorian", the Old Growth. (http://nothing-is-ir...issertation-77/)

I'd be sad if all that has been discarded for some senseless deus ex machina.
Does anyone know?
