Dragon Age is not Dragon Age without the Blight. If it is true that the main plot for Dragon Age 3 is the mage/templar war - I feel the story won't be complete. I think that the main reason why the mage/templar war should end not only to unify the lands, but to unify the land to battle the last Arch Demon.
Another Blight? Between the last Blights there had been hundreds of years
... so the appearance of another Blight would not really make sense to
me. What I think might have a kind of importance is the relation between
the wardens and the architect, as mentioned by Nathaniel when you meet him in the deep roads.
That the main conflict is going to be the war between mages and templars is logical if DA3 draws on the DA2 story. It would be irritating if it was different.
Dragon Age 3 should be the last installment.
No! ... I hope for many further sequels!
And about the Warden not returning, I think the Warden should return if the Warden survived the Origins. Why would Leliana say the Warden also disappeared at the end of Dragon Age 2 - that means that the Warden's story is not over.
I think that means that the warden will be a subject of the storyline but not an active character. Maybe during the whole storyline we are in search of him, discovering hint after hint to his destination, without really ever finding him.
Hawke should also return or at least have an appearance as he was the reason why the mage/templar war started. Maybe for the mage/templar story Hawke would appear. Then for the final Arch demon battle - the Warden should appear.
Well, ... Hawke was NOT the reason why the mage/templar war started! ... ANDERS was!
So if one had to appear in DA3 than him! ... But because of the possibility of being killed in DA2 I assume that if anything, he will only be seen in a cameo ... by those who spared him.
Regarding Hawke ... I don't think that we will see him in DA3. Quite sure he will be mentioned ... maybe the same way as the warden ... but a visual appearence should be difficult due to the variety of individually created Hawkes.
Hopefully the romance scene would be better - more 'graphic' so to speak. Characters would have an option to continue the romance, end it, or rekindle the romance
Yes, please! ... I second this! ...Further I want the option back to be able to kiss my Love at any time I want like it was in DAO! ... And more private dialogues with my LI and the other companions on impulse, not only associated with a quest!

I also agree about a more graphic love scene and the adding of more private dialogues, between everyone especially your love but not restricted to.
I really want to play as a qunari, soo bad, and have a voice that suits him, not some generic males voice, all the qun I heard in DA2 were great.
theres another game that, if you equip a certain armor, say chainmail, it'd look a certain way, but if you were to then equip the same to another party member of a differnt class or race it looks totally differnt, I think something like that would be pretty epic. yes im still thinking about the qunari lol.
I still think any summoned anything should gain your party xp but now I also think they should be able to stay with you untill they die or unsummoned, and every 25 kills they get earns them a special attack. thinking about the bear in DAO it could learn to charge and knockdown, stand on two legs and roar, bearhug *shrugs* cool little things like that helps make games epic.
I hope theres nothing to say that every archdemon has to be a dragon, I do love fighting dragons but i think it'd be cool if a few were well I dunno, other things.
I myself liked the DA2 combat, its alot faster & flashier. the mage actually looked pretty good doing basic attacks.

More voices and/or option to be silent.
The environments to be not so clean and make the graphics and bit grittier.
More focused story line.
More talkies with party members.
I would actually like a more inept romance. IM not talking about sex i don't care about that. But i would like us to get to know our LI's a lot more. Be also fun if we get to do silly things with them, just make things more personable.
If we are with our companions for a long time i wanna feel like i have known this person for years and we are awesome best buddies or ya know something like that.
The enemies to actually fight with skill like in DAO. In DA2 nothing felt like it had any weight behind it especially the great sword. Like what the hell i felt pathetic didn't felt weighty at all and fireball was a powerful spell in DAO you had to use it wisely cause even with FF off it still had knock back.
Please don't make DA3 casual. DA2 just seemed so dumbed down.
Secrets. Some nice hidden stuff would be fun.
MORE HAIR!!

forums r great for collaborative brainstorming..
a storage chest.
more random encounters/battles.
No useless things being said or read that dont go anywhere like in DA2 carver gets a letter from some chick who likes hawk, nothing ever came of it & I never flirted with any of my companions, tho not because of the letter, but I just didnt like any of them.. and yeah, the one woman I kinda liked who made an appearance in act 2, dies... also your own mother mentions some noble mans daughters looking to marry, again nothing came of it.
I wouldnt mind hooking up with an NPC, so long as we could have conversations ect.
there was something else... ah, bring back weapon descriptions, at least on special weapons, equipment.
I love attack speed runes.. and even armor runes.. tho some unique runes like the gems found in the KOTOR games could be nice.. ya know, a rune with a few properties.. mm.. runecraftings pretty cool too.

Lol yes more hair! I dont know what it is but gamers seem to love as many hairstyles as they can possibly get their characters in.
I like the idea of dong not combat related things. Its an RPG after all where your surposed to get connected with people.
Would of been funny coming back to the estate and a woman/man was there that your mother was trying to fix you up with.

I like the way they had the hound as a summon and not a main character in party, thought that was different and I used my Mabari way more that way.
I would like to see more variety in the robes for mages, I'm not really liking the look of my main running around in a nightgound.
Having Flemeth still involved in the story somehow would be awesum! She's just so clever and mysterious, I love the myth that surrounds her.
I'm also loving that every time we get a DA game it takes place in a different part of Thedas, I would love to see more of this world. I also loved the way they had it set up in DA 2 where we had one city , day/night options and then just on the outside of the city. Really really loved that system.
Keeping my chars voice is nice too, I even loved the VO for my main. So I'm hoping they do that as well. I just hope there will be more consequences to my choices. Not just different ways of saying something that gets me the same result no matter what.
Recycled areas, what can I say. Not a fan of them, but if that was a sacrifice that had to be made for certain very good reasons, I guess I can live with that.
I'm really hoping to not be defending Mages, only to see them ALL go bloody mage angry on everyone. It would be nice to see some Mages actually do good.
That's all I can think of for now....

you like the thought of dong combat? lmfao... sorry, but thats hilarious. again I agree.. doing non combat related things can be fun.
only things I liked about DA2 was the spells & talent improvments. combat, main char having a voice. varrics crossbow, man he would of been the deadliest char eventually. a few quests, a few locations.. and a few other things, few chars ect.. gotta add the middle voice option, what a smart mouth lol love it.
I want better items, the best items in my opinion would be ones that get better when you level up, I gotta say I was envious of varrics crossbo, betsy? heh.. I hope hes in DA3, I love that guy, serious bromance, lol, hes my new brother, since in my game... well.. you know...
the ability to finish the game and start a new with the same char, with all the items collected ect.
ability to import your char into DA4, and possibly into DA3 from Origins.
I'd love to visit the tevinter imperium, hope a DA game is based there soon.
aw I forgot & it was good too.. hmmmmmmmmmmm.. uh.... hmmmmmmm lol
go back to the endinings like in DAO & awakenings, I love reading whats going on due to the choices I made.. reading of my companions ect..
not to rush the game makers because rushed games generally suck, but hurry up lol. I wanna play it already... sheesh. ;P tho im sure many of our well thought out ideas wont see the light of day, I really hope we see a few of our suggestions, some are pure gold... like most of mine harhar
I love being a mage, I just wish I got to a point where I felt as powerful as flemmeth... shes awsome btw, I cant think of the actresses name but I loved her as captain janeway. but her as flemmeth, wow.. epic.. I thought I killed the old bat.. she just keeps coming back.. thats cool tho, I'd miss her. in DA2 she looked fanfrikentastic what a getup, wish I had that equipment...
tho I must say, in DAO:A I need some help, someone stole my legendary weapon, im still fuming about that lol ;Pglad it got a mention... hmmm.. I wonder if i'll ever see it again, it calls to me in my dreams sometimes.. my dwarf "krom" feels like hes missing a part of himself.. it grew in power, and took on a life of its own, krom started wondering if he was truely the one in control. it became harder and harder to put it down.. perhaps its for the best it went missing, tho it still calls to him.. even now hes out there, somewhere, forever searching....
um lol so yeah, bring that weapon back please...

Now as to what I'd want, what I'd really really want of a DA3? To begin with, I do not need characters hassling me in my own party. Also I hope Bioware hires more writers or lets the guy who writes thematic material (journal "lore") to write a large section of dialogue. I'm tired of partymembers being incoherent, self-amusing, immature, abusive, and shallow. Gaider is a good writer but he's never been known for developing characters beyond caricature. Can we at least have two pleasant companion characters for a change?
As to a background story. Before everyone my character is friendly with since his/her childhood dies, I want to know them as if they were a companion character. I want to have long conversations with them. I want the voice actors to require horehound and eucalyptis oil. I want Bioware to scour phone conversation services for good voice actors: men who don't sound like they've been crying for hours and women who don't sound old and husky voiced. Sorry, I know trend has been to find "sultry throated lounge singers" but outside of the voice actors of Morrigan, Leliana, and Fruella (Fruella from Temple of Elemental Evil) I'm bored by that popular trend. As to men: you'd do best to keep the resonant voices, ask them to not pinch their nostrils when they speak, and permit more resonance. Bass and baritone, if you will, for the male characters. Except for elves perhaps.
Graphically, people who can play DAO should also be able to play DA3 on its lowest graphics. That's my hope. If I were running a computer game company, lowest end graphics would be ANSI with upper end at where we are now with Crysis 2 (if I could effing afford it).
Audially? I like what you do usually. Please someday look into constraint framework theory in random music generation, it could be the wave of the future. However, if you *could* I'd like to hear less gleeful insults to dead enemies except in rare instances. It's a little downputting to me when our favorite bardic poet is going on about how wonderful it is to roll around in intestines and what not.
Character creation is reasonable. I'm thinking someday language options might be an idea you could permit as an "academic skill" functioning to permit one to understand what lore is getting at (adding to the text in found notes and pages) along with the resumption of a conversation related skill. I hope DA3 might permit us to play Apostates and Circle Mages depending on our choices.
As to combat... I am one of the rare folk who loves pre-combat preparation. I'd love pre-adventure preparation too but Bioware has never really seemed to encourage the whole traditional D&D process of buying ropes, iron spikes, ten foot poles, etc. even when they were making Baldur's Gate. Searching around for herbs isn't quite what I mean. Nevermind, it probably won't happen til a future title unaffiliated with DA.
I don't like it when two played characters block eachother in combat and they pause. I don't like it when my character is stuck on something and runs in place or stops. I don't like it when a non-controlled character suddenly stops attacking (by default) after their target falls.
Please elaborate on runes, their lore, hint at why Tevinter runes are effective while other writing isn't magically effective. As to other lore, please more information about heraldry and aesthetic history in Thedas. Also, hire a poet who is capable in New Formalism (Geoffrey Hill is one such but he might be hard to obtain). The main body of poetry in DAO and DA2 is trivial, which is a shame when Hespith incants a horror poem that's a bit clumsy and of questionable merit.
I think that there should be replenishment of area maps if it seems sensible, should our party leave and then return. Some opponents might have access to reinforcements. Also, if enemies are carrying really good weapons or have access to really good weapons, why not let them use these weapons. I have picked up grenades from out-numbered or surprised enemies who never use these weapons. Also, I assume we're going to have an option to assist in strategies in DA3, presupposing there may be one of those conversation scenes where a general asks, "Should we put our pikes out in front or place them in deep covered pits off to the side?" If this happens, can we *please* not forget that possible resources include grenadiers, spies, mabari, blood mages *with* mind control abilities, mages on war horses who do a magical area-effect Parthian shot, a whole slew of strangely applied advanced character classes, and flying covered wagons with elves singing at people.
Please tell your coders to remember how to set variables to record our deeds in the game and to read variables from prior games. Please make sure they do this well. And please keep the plot flexible rather than just insisting that Leliana, Flemeth, Alistair, Oghren, et al all are what a slightly disinteresting story demands rather than what players have been promised by a continuing story that has "world shaking" options. If I decided to kick Alistair to death with shoes made of Orlesian bard flesh, then please remember I did this. If I taught Oghren how to make poison and herbs at expense of other skills, he should remember these things if I bring him into an expansion. If I had sex with a certain stone golem (pronounced goh-lem as in goat lab, not gollum as in a heroin addicted hobbit), that golem should remember squishy boy with fondness.
That being said, I'd love to see some of the minor yet important NPC return as companion characters or just simply reappear somewhere (or be mentioned even). I can imagine an adventuring party composed of Lloyd, Dagna, Lily, and Sister Justine travelling through Tevinter (with perhaps four other possible NPC that sometimes replace any except Dagna as a humorous nod to party member selection in the very game being played). Bevin would be a nice addition regardless of the circumstances (say, he's an abomination now). I'd like to see Shale again if Shale isn't being called a gollum; again, the pronunciation is goh-lem.
I'd like to see wider and more convoluted conversation trees with longer potential conversation. I'd like to see these trees be influential rather than just return to an inevitable thread of dialogue. I think all of us would like to see the writers work for a living.
Please permit a lengthy end-game post-script about the events that happened because of our character's deeds and conversations and scour your own damn dialogues -- it's not that hard to look at end event possibilities. I never really found out what happened to Bella when she "starts a new life".
Finally, might we please be able to establish a castle or keep like we did in Baldur's Gate 2 except with more interactivity and personalization? Or are you saving this for the inevitable DA MMO? That would be trees chick: a personalized castle with interactive servants and guards who have their own personal lives. Especially if we're blood mages. Servants make such good fodder for demons of hunger.

a few unique legandary equipment sets for each class, at least one of each set would contain the equipment gets better per level up ability, as I've said, love it.
use the writers from baulders gate shadows of ahm, they are awsome, & or please make a part 2 to that game..
about combat, im sure you could mix DAO and DA2 together and make everyone happy. someone said something about the fireball being better in DAO because it knocked your own party on their behinds lol, I hated that.. I mean I can understand it, but it may as well be a solo game with people on the front lines constantly falling over, I've never tried chain lightning or the strom in origins, but in DA2 it looked pretty weak, the actual animation.. im just glad I didnt waste my skills learning them, I pretty much had to because I needed to of spent a certain number of points in the tree to obtain another skill.
I'd be happy with 9 quick slots. 6 dont cut it.
not sure if I've already said, (probably, but it bears repeating) please continue with the random loot drops.
if im a blood mage, or even an apostate, I expect to be hunted. with also the option of finding and destroying my own phalactory...
hmm.. a few class specific quests is certainly something to consider. as well as the possibility of race specific..
who wants to play as a human anyways? they are always the last race I pick to play with, why? because I am one lol, I want to be something else. and if you dont know by now well lol, I wanna be a Qunari XD, I can already see them being my favourite race.. tho I would play as a warrior, I'd also want to play as a seerabas, mage.
the year is 2012, come on people save a few bucks a week and get a new graphics card in a few months.. *shakes head* thats what I've done and by this time next week i'll be sitting on a brand new machine...
im getting HD6950 2gb, I hope DA3 makes full use of it.
I must say the rock armor in DA2 was wicked, made the animation in Origins look silly ;P
