At least on the Xbox 360 version make it X, I don't care if it seems like copying Gears of War, it's just a button! Or make different control schemes. I don't think anyone likes using one button/key for every major function.
The "One Button to Rule Them All" must go!

I'm not a big fan of sprint being on the "A" button on the xbox. You to take your thumb off of the right joystick and are stuck running in one direction. I'd prefer if the sprint button was just clicking down on the left joystick so you can still look where you're going if you want to change directions.

Bioware seems to like the everything button for some reason.

In the hope it wont be a bannable offense, i will find a way to mod that button
Sprint on shift, there it has to be for my muscle memory, use/revive on e, space is jump, so i can live with space to be cover/roll
these small changes i assume will double my efficency

Agree with the OP.
For the xbox the X-button would work fine.
90% of the times reload can wait till I revived someone.

Everyone saying make it X on thr xbox, you do know that is the reload button right, it would be a real pain in the ass if you were to go and revive someone but had to reload first everytime.

I know it is the reload.
Just overrule the reload when a downed person is near.

Would the select button work, I don't think that's used for anything.

They should have used the thumbsticks for the gamepad, one click BAM problem solved.

The revive would take priority, of course. So basically as long as you are in range and aiming at your downed ally, X will be revive instead of reload

it is like prob 10 lines of coding, just change on button click event to split, its even odd on joystick,on keyboard it's just way to say to customers"ha ha we think u are way to stupid to remember binds,so we made easy for ya,press x for win"
/agree.On Silver i already lost games cause of not being able to revive fast enough and died myself

The only thing that the cover button should share a task with is running.
No no no, getting "covered" while trying to run away is what gets me killed the most

Vreki is right, getting stuck in cover while storming is the main big problem regarding controlls. The link on page 1 to a modded file does not solve this problem, as it only separates "storm" from the space bar.
In previous titles you could easily disable this by setting "m_bEnableStormToCover" to false. Unfortunately there is no such entry in the coalesced. I tried to add the line, but it did not work.
This should be handled via options menu in the gameplay section (turn on and off), but the devs seem to like this ugly feature...
Edit: maybe it is called differently, but I have not found anything suitable yet

This system is absurd. I have a friend who turned me on to ME, and his biggest complaint about ME2 was that Run and Cover were tied to the same button. He brings it up every time we talk about the games, lol. I can only imagine what he'll be saying about ME3. He might not even play it, it was THAT big a deal to him.
What bothers me so much is that there are other options. For starters, you've got the two thumbstick buttons that go completely unused. Play Rainbow Six and you'll see how well they can be implemented for certain actions. Then there's the fact that HOLDING A could have been used to the USE command, since you're not doing anything else while reviving or hacking. There's really no good reason for implementing the system as it is. It's just absurd.

Okay.. four days later, and I'm practically at the rage point. (See the red behind my portrait.. yeah, rage RAAAAAGE...) I'm tired of Spacebar doing everything from running, to activating, to reviving, to talking, to drinking, to elevatoring, to breathing.
In combat, it's a pain, especially as the cover system (while better than ME) is frustratingly annoying. Target to start up, get stuck going into cover instead. Want to revive someone? Get stuck in cover- or worse yet, want to get in cover near someone you want to revive once you've got full shield again? Start reviving in the open. I've got 158 keys on my keyboard, there is no reason this game should only allow me to use 32 of them.
The game can't identify what my goal is, so it shouldn't be trying. Let me decide, I've got the input to do it.

You just had to dumb it down? Character control is all messed up because of this??? - In singleplayer it just plain s*ck! - But it completely ruins the multiplayer experience!!! - It's a stinking console limitation yet again!?
I'd really like to see two option in the start of these consoleport games:
1. Click here if you are an idiot, and don't know s**t. (We'll put it all in one button for you)
2. Yes, I know how to play computer games, and I like CHOICES!
- We're not all incompetent. Some of us actually prefer a good piece of (complicated/challenging) quality software.

What I love is when I'm facing one direction, and hit space to run in the direction I'm facing.......and decide to vault over the cover BEHIND me and then crouch on the other side. *instadeath*
Happens to me on Firebase Glacier each time I'm facing the upper doorway to get away from the Atlas that's about to missile my butt.

Absolutely agree...if you have to revive a teammate in a corner, next to an objective, you will curse the spacebar more than once...then die.

Surely the unreal 3 engine allows a separate button for use? Of course, that doesn't help the sprint function.
