Also, added a special note about Snap Freeze (found under Cryo Explosion section).

I have a question though. When i prime multiple targets with disruptor ammo and then chain-overload them, why is there no visible detonation? When you look at it, it is no different from simple overload without use of ammo powers. I tried both ways, the damage and the animation is identical in both cases. Bug?

Tech Bursts actually have a very, very awful detonation animation that is very similar, and in fact it's even MORE subdued than Chain Overload, so they are really, really hard to spot.
thanks! i hope at least the damage is as heavy as it should be. i thought it wasn't working.

Why does Energy drain not detonate Incinerate?
It depends on the target. ED only detonates if the target is synthetic or has shields/barriers.
So it's a really good detonator for Geth, great for Collectors, good for Cerberus, and not that great for Reapers.

The Asari Justicar's biotic sphere can detonate incendiary explosions, cryo explosions and tech bursts?
In addition, is it true you can detonate biotic explosions with the sphere, without the warp evolution?
According to this thread, the answers to both questions is yes.

The sphere can detonate tech combos (with or without warp evolution). Biotic combos can also be detonated without the warp evolution, however, you won't be able to prime your targets without warp evo.

Just asking because there was some disagreement in a group I was in last night about whether it actually primed enemies for BEs.

Relix I have a question. You mention that Biotic Orbs can prime enemies for a BE. Do you have to take a specific evolution for that to happen or is it intrinsic to the power?

That was an error on my part. I didn't properly test it at first (just a quick game on day one with some biotic teammates), and it kinda seemed that I was able to pime for explosions. I corrected that, after I did some more tests, and it turned out that biotic orbs are biotic detonators, but not primers. I appologize, if I mislead you.
Btw, where have you been? It's been a while since last time we played together.

Ah, thanks for filling me in! Don't apologize, haha.
I'm away at school and left my XBox at home. Currently I'm playing MP on my PC, which has been pretty fun, although I still don't find the controls quite as smooth as on the XBox. Nice people, though. I'll be back home in mid-December once exams are over and would love to play some matches with you then!

It's nice to have lots of options! I feel like the majority of my experience in MP has been the successive backpacks I've been in. You all know who you are.
Seriously though, I'll appreciate the support while getting adjusted to the XBox again and the game changes, glad to know you'll be there.
And now, back to power combos...sorry for going off topic.

What I mean. I cast singularity, then I follow up with warp. Even though there is a biotic explosion, it is actually warp that kills the target and not the explosion.
Do biotic explosions (or other combos) lead to the player earning more points?
How do I ensure that the target is killed by the biotic explosion (or other combo) and not the detonating power itself?

It wasn't until this weekend's challenge that I realised that quite often, even when there is a clear and obvious biotic explosion, the detonating power kills the target first. (I beat the detonator challenge by the way).

In the context of this weekend Challenge, I'd make two suggestions.
Use lower damage powers like pull, reave, stasis, or throw to minimize the damage done to your target. I easily met the challenge by using an asari justicar and either pull/reaving or priming with reave and relying on a human sentinel to detonate. Powers like warp, smash, charge and cluster nades apply high damage instantly and are more likely to kill the target outright.
Prioritize groups of enemies for biotic explosions. Even if your target is killed by power damage, the rest of the group will only take BE damage. In that context, 6x6 power combos are the best since BE radius also scales up -- not just damage.

Pretty much this.
Here's a quote from Eric Fagnan. "The combo damage is done after the normal power impact. So if you detonate with Warp, Warp will do its normal damage and then the combo damage is added."
So, if your target is low enough on health to be killed by your detonator power, then that power will take credit for the kill (and not biotic explosion).
As for the weekend challenge, I would recommend playing the N7 Fury vs. Reapers (Gold). You can get a ton of BE kills, especially on the first two waves. Husk and canibals can be one-shoted with anihilation field + throw, and marauders just need their shields striped beforehand, so use a weapon that can do that, idealy with one shot (acolyte, wraith, claymore, talon, etc...).
I finished my challenege in the first game on wave 4 using this method. Very simple and very effecive.

I found warp + throw and warp + shockwave to be the most effective.
Singularity + warp is a terrible combo. The lift damage pretty much kills the enemy anyway.
The Justicar was okay. Pull + reave led to biotic explosion kills roughly 50% of the time.
As for warp sphere + reave or reave plus sphere, they led to some easy combos.
