Liara T'Soni casts warp on an Atlas Mech
Then
Garrus Vakarian casts overload on Atlas Mech
Then
Adept/Sentinel Shepard casts throw on Atlas Mech



What happens next?

Biotic explosion, tech burst, both? Or do we get neither...



Also according to this thread, chaining combos is impossible.

What happens, in that specific situation, is that a TB goes off, but the target is still primed for a BE.  Hit the target with another Throw, and a BE will go off.

In general, a detonating power will not also prime if it is the same class of power.  But I think there are a few cases where it can still prime, particularly when you are detonating a TB with a biotic priming power (though don't quote me on that, I'm not positive).  But if you detonate a BE with a biotic power that can also prime, it will not prime.

Oh, forgot why I came to this thread in the first place. Relix, you still have Biotic Orbs listed as a priming power (in an early paragraph about which powers both prime and detonate). Saw it referenced in a thread a moment ago.

Does Reave detonate tech combos?

I've read a few recent threads where people said this was not the case. I then brought my justicar in a few PUGs and tried to mask Biotic Explosions with disruptor ammo. It appeared that I was unsuccessful, as the BE always detonated on my first Reave cast.

If this is the case, then Reave has more utility than I thought on teams with tech kits.  It might be worth pointing out that Reave is the only BE detonator that can do this.

What happens, in that specific situation, is that a TB goes off, but the target is still primed for a BE.  Hit the target with another Throw, and a BE will go off.

Correct on the Warp -> Overload -> Throw -> Throw combo. 

Also, detonating a tech power with a biotic power will prime the target for a biotic explosion.
Some tech powers can also be chain combo'd. A good example of this is the QME with his (TB + FE + TB) arc nade -> incinerate -> arc nade -> incinerate chains.
There are two biotic powers to my knowledge with wich you can get chain biotic combos with, namely the Biotic Sphere and Lash.
The Justicar can get a chain explosion with Reave -> Biotic Sphere (detonates a BE and primes for another one) -> Reave (detonates the second BE)
Phoenix Adept also has the potential to get some chain explosions going on his own with Singularity -> Lash (detonates a BE and primes for another one) -> Smash (detonates the second BE).
Not the most practical examples, but it is there, and it can be a benefit, especially if you have some biotic teammates also priming and detonating those combos.

All of the powers in this game that deal DoT damage exclusively (inferno grenades, reave, submission net, flamer, flamer turrets) are not able to detonate any of the three tech combos.
I might add a note about that the next time I get around to editing the OP.

Of all the new combat features in Mass Effect 3 which include

Heavy melees
Grab kills
Improved mobility (combat rolls)
Proper implementaiton of grenades


The biotic/elemental combo system is by far the best.


This thread explains how to perform biotic explosions, tech bursts, incendiary explosions and cryo explosions.


The combos are my favourite combat feature in Mass Effect 3.
This thread deserves a great many bumps!

-Lash can detonate biotic combos on all non-armored targets.


I have a question. Can I detonate tech combos on armored targets with Lash? Is Smash > Lash tech burst possible on armored targets (with electrical damage Smash)?

Thanks for the bump.  Before reading this thread, I was having trouble getting elemental combos to work consistently.  After reading it however, I've been rockin' the tech/incendiary/cryo explosions with my Geth engineer :o

This will definitely make getting the Machinist banner more fun :)

it's pretty obvious how long most prime for is based on their intial effect time, example extention of the WARP effect for priming lasts as long as warp exists on the target but only 1 detnation per "cast" may occure

Biotic SPhere whenever you BE a new version  keeps re casting is was it seems and thus reseting constantly for re priming

so example power like incinerate lasts as long as it's burn lasts same goes for ammos too and the like

when an explosion occures not sure but I think some effects are "released" I might be wrong though and they jsut can't be reused till a "re priming"

I'm still kinda new to this whole MP thing, so everyone, please be gentle with the new guy! So anyway, as I think I'm understanding it, I could for example take my Krogan Soldier fitted with Incendiary Ammo, fire a few shots into an enemy to set then on fire, then use Carnage to cause a Fire Explosion?

On that same note, does that mean I can have my Battlemaster rock Warp Ammo, use a Biotic Charge to prime, and while they're staggered, fire a hail of Warp bullets into him to cause a Biotic Explosion?  Or hit an enemy with Overload, then trigger a burst using Disruptor Ammo?  Sorry for all the questions, again this is my first post :crying: I'm trying to find the best way to help me inflict as much damage as I seem to see others doing, in order to be a better teammate and player.

Warp ammo doesn't prime or detonate biotic explosions.
Biotic Charge only detonates biotic explosions (and other combos).


With incendiary, cryo and disruptor ammo, you shoot enemies to prime the combo then use an offensive power to detonate.



So for example shoot enemy with disruptor ammo then use incinerate or overload to detonate tech burst. (overload not only detonator just an example)


Shoot enemy with incendiary ammo, then use warp or overload for incendiary explosions. (overload and warp not only detonator. Just an example)


Shoot enemy with cryo ammo then biotic charge for cryo explosion. (Biotic charge not only detonate just an example).

The Carbal Vanguard introduces a new element "corrosion/poison". Does this new element setup incendiary explosions?

Does the Carbal's poison strike detonate biotic explosions?

Do Nightshade Blades detonate biotic explosions?

It's obviously going to take a while for the next update.

Reckoning DLC introduced so many new powers into the 6 kits.
Relix 28 is probably still spamming Reserve Packs in the hopes of unlocking all of them.

Trust me. It takes ages to unlock them all.
