I ordered the PC Collector's Edition from Amazon here in the US and I paid extra for next day shipping but they're still not showing expected delivery until November 5th.  Meanwhile they're selling the regular version of the game for a huge discount with free release-day delivery delivery (well, free delivery to me, because I have Amazon Prime).

What gives with the Collector's delay?

I've been burned by delays on Collector's Editions before from Amazon, but I thought they had this stuff figured out by now.

So, my question is: could I buy the regular version of the game to open and start playing 2 days earlier and then return the DVD case inside the Collector's edition later?  To rephrase and be clear: I'm wondering if the extra goodies for the collector's eidtion (map, case, item redemption codes, etc) are simply packaged around a sealed DVD case of the regular game.  If that is indeed the case, I would and could buy a regular copy early and return the 'regular copy' inside the Collector's copy later.

Does this make sense to people?  Can anyone who has recieved their collector's verion (on any platform since I assume they're the same) comment on the packaging of the game?

Dude its 1-2 more days. Just take a pill and wait. I ordered the same version with the same delivery. We've been waiting years, a day or two won't hurt.

Heh, yeah I know.  But it'd be pretty easy to buy/return an extra copy so I thought I'd look into it.  If it's not feasable, I'll wait.

Also, as I mentioned being burned by Amazon before: I pre-orered a Limited/Collector's Editions of Assassin's Creed and Mass Effect from them a few years back and I think that both ended up coming a week or more late.  I think Assassin's actually took 2 weeks and I got emails from Amazon twice saying "we'll ship it soon, sorry."  ... so I really don't want that to happen again.

Hmmm, CE is delayed with Amazon?  Maybe that is why Gamestop told me my copy was not in stock, but they had the game already in stock just waiting for Tues to sell.

Has there been some kind of announcement about the CE being delayed?

the ce is not delayed, mine from amazon has shipped and is due to arrive by friday (I took standard shipping)

This is not an online game, there is no race to see who get to kill the Boss first. Why rush it for the sake of a few hours lol
