Does anyone have any idea if there will be advantages to importing a file that has beaten insanity on mass effect 2 to mass effect 3? Like keeping the geth plasma rifle or something like that? I've done it on my main profile but I'm just curious if I should do it for the rest of mine to recieve any advantages or bonuses
Insanity import advantages?

I have heard that all the weapons you unlocked in ME2 will carry over to ME3. So the only advantage I can see is having unlocked the Geth Plasma Rifle and being able to transfer that over. This only requires a Hardcore playthrough to get though if I remember correctly.
I imported a ME1 level 60 into ME2 that was beaten on insanity, and nothing extra was gained there for the difficulty, so I would imagine its the same going into ME3.

Nothing so far:( (lvl 44 atm)
I did not keep any armor, any weapons. The only thing i got to keep (after some searching and talking) was my fish and my model ships;) However the way you find weapons is changed for the better. You find more weapons more frequently and if you have lets say AR rifle 1, and find the exact same later on you will instead get AR rifle 2, an upgraded version. Does not apply to armor as far as i know.

Bumping to see what everybody else is saying about this.
I'm currently re-playing two different ME2 playthroughs; almost finished with my one on Insanity.
I re-played ME1 twice and hit level 60 on both playthroughs (using the same New Game + for both), just different LI's each time.
Then in ME2 I now have to replay the entire game twice to pursue both of those LI's in ME3 later on; while simultaneously having had a level 60 in ME1 and a level 30 in ME2.
The problem is, I forgot how long ME2 is compared to ME1, especially on Insanity.
I don't want to play it again on Insanity on my second playthrough for the other LI, if playing on Insanity doesn't reap any import benefits or consequences in ME3.
If difficulty doesn't matter, then my other LI playthrough is just going to be EZ mode so I can steamroll my way through. Don't want to go through with it though just to find out that I needed to play it on Insanity.
Thoughts?

You can get the Geth Plasma Rifle in ME3 anyway, even without it being on a high level, so that's not that much of an advantage.
You do get to start at the same level as you ended ME2 at, though.

But don't all the difficulties in ME2 garner the same experience?
Plus, starting at level 5 auto guarantees level 30 on Insanity; I hit 30 before even going to the Reaper IFF.
So if Easymode is the same experience rate, and if there aren't any consequences: I'm all in.
