I am sure this question has been asked a bunch of times.

I know each class play styles are different and each one has a different role but for stictly DPS which is better.

I started off has a warrior and I maxed out my sword and shield tree, put a few in warrior and berserker, then dumped the rest into DW and I played with the sword and shield most of the way through then I decided to mix it up.

I use Juggernaut Armor and I have the fade wall and the keening blade so I dropped the fade wall and picked up The Vershaille axe and duel wield with that and the keening blade.

I put +5 damage to both weapons and I was AMAZED. I havent pklayed a rogue yet but the warrior pretty much 2 hits everything. I found myself struggling at times against orange opponents or large amounts but with dual wielding they die in a matter of a couple hits. I usuall just hit one taget lock another and hit once then repeat. I do so much damage in one hit my party members kind of clean up after me with the residual halth left over.

Can Rogues do this are they just effective.

It just seems to me a Human in Juggernaut with berserker and those two weapons is practically impoosable to stop. A rogue just seems like it wouldnt be effective. what do you think?

I'm wondering the same thing. I've played both, however I've only reached 11 with my dw war, and 7 with my dw rogue. From what I've read it's close, but dw swords do better aoe dmg, and don't require backstabs to be most effective. DW rogue/daggers, have highest single target dps, but if the mob isn't paralyzed etc. you'll need to be staring at lots of mobs butts.

I just got done looking at the duelist, ranger and assassin trees and think they suck. I prefer zerker, champ, or reaver so far. But rogues have more utility. Easier to level poison, which can add to dmg or stun etc.

Hopefully others will chime in. I'm still learning. Btw, there's other threads on this you should read. That's what I'm doing.

Somewhat general consensus : DW rogue excellent single target weapon dmg dealer, DW warrior excellent AoE weapons dmg dealer. There can be some overlap between the two but this just about sums it up.

Also, regarding Poison - if you have a Rogue with high poison in your party (Zevran, for example), then a DW warrior can just get 1 rank in it in order to use them all.

They both have significant strengths and weakenesses - I prefer Warriors simply for the survivability and lack of need for positioning. You can pretty much run in head first and watch everything die - as you noted with your Keening Blade/Veshialle combo.

You may think that, but you are quite wrong.

Both Duelist and Assassin are extremely powerful. With Duelist / Pinpoint Strike, you can do facestabs, the whole assassin line is quite useful. (Though arguably, a Warrior with Rally / Berserk is close in terms of damage dealing, highly depending on stats and equipment.)

Something extremely useful the rogue gives you is stealth. Backstabbing is quite easy with the right tactics, just team up with a tank that attacks from the other side (and draws aggro with Taunt / Threaten / Assault / Overpower ...), if the rogue is doing too much damage and gets attention, simply stealth and you drop aggro (and backstab again).

If you want to maximize Rune / Berserk / Cold+Flaming Weapons damage, go for daggers.

A strength-based dual wield warrior will be much more vulnerable - low defense, more armor means more aggro. AOE talents draw a lot of aggro. No stealth means not being able to disappear when in trouble...

BTW, I'm doing a melee only nightmare run, after picking up Rose's Thorn / Thorn of the Dead Gods, my dual wielding Assassin / Duelist Rogue was way overpowered, so I decided to switch down to normal tier 7 daggers.

Juggernaut is nice mid-game, but towards the later part, heavy armor loses a lot of its effectiveness (and high defense is MUCH more useful).
