Started with BG1 and will end with ME3.
I dropped KOTOR 'cause I can't stand Star Wars.

Though EA is to blame for that, and not Bioware. I would support more of their products if I could.

I'm not hyped about Bioware releases and i don't think i ever was. But i'm seriously hyped about all of the Infinity Engine games. Other than that, i guess i'm more of a Fallout guy.

His post said none of those things. It's not a 'whine' at all.
By the 8 devines, did you, in your total and utter blind haste just jump down the OPs throat about things he didn't even mention in his posts?
What is happened to the Bioware community I wonder...
Why isn't behavior like this AlexXIV's considered trolling, and why isn't it bannable?

I never get how all of those people started out playing a sequel and then never went back to see how fantastic BG1 was. It's mind numbingly stupid (sorry guys). I started with BG1. Now i play the whole series as one with the BGT mod. Played NWN a bit. Never did KoToR, Jade Empire or whatever. Still not interested. Played Mass Effect and Origins. I was entertained.

Some people can't retro game.

From there I bought DA2 and like many people I was very disappointed, then after awhile I picked up the 2 mass effect games on the cheap and loved them both.
I also not long ago bought KOTOR and started making my way through that which was great fun.
And now I anxiously await the release of Mass Effect 3.
Where will my journey end you ask? quite possibly after Mass Effect 3, I still haven't made up my mind whether or not to buy DA3 when it comes out after the disappointment of DA2. But alas we shall see.

In short, my BioWare history started with Mass Effect. Will it end with Mass Effect 3? Who knows?

Fell in love with it after only a few hours and bought it from Steam the same night.
Bought ME2 soon after it's release and enjoyed it more than the first one, prompting me to invest in all of the DLC available.
My interest in Mass Effect led me to buy Dragon Age Origins from Steam but due to numerous bugs and crashes I gave up on it despite it being a good game.
Now with Mass Effect 3 I ordered the Collectors Edition to show my appreciation for the series and the hundreds of hours I've spent in it.

I started with Shattered Steel, went on to:
Baldurs Gate I&II
NWN
KotoR
Jade Empire (sequel would be much appreciated)
ME1
DA Origins and Awakening
ME2
DA2 (which is my least favorite BW game to date)
SWToR
ME3 demo didn't blow me away and I'll admit that I'm not as excited about the game as I was about ME2 pre-release, but I'm still quietly optimistic that BW can pull this one off. If ME3 pulls another DA2 trick it might just signal the beginning of the end of my relationship with Bioware games, which would be a sad day for me.

Back in the day Bioware, Black Isle Studios and Bullfrog were my favorite developers.
Black Isle Studios is also one of my favs. When I was younger I actually believed BioWare and Black Isle was the same studio. The games was so similar.

I started with KOTOR(I love Star Wars). I saw the launch trailer ad and wanted it immediately. I don't think I had an Xbox at the time so I didn't actually play it for some time. I first played it at a friends house and loved it, I then rented it for myself soon after. I got KOTOR 2 for Christmas whenever that came out.
Next was Mass Effect back in 2007. I didn't do that much research on it, but from what I gathered made me interested. So I got it when it first came out, and loved it very much. Then I bought ME2 when it came out.
Then I bought DA:O at some point. I didn't like it at first and had a slow start, but eventually I got hooked on it. I pre-ordered Dragon Age 2 and got it. I enjoyed my first play-through, but couldn't find the will to finish my second attempt.
Less than 24 hours until ME3. As for any future BioWare titles - I'll be keeping my eye out.

Anyways played that non-stop, multiple times through. Back then I could barely read too, was a big part of my motivation for reading - that and Marathon 2 back in 1996 prior. The whole story was told through terminals, but that was Bungie heh.
Anyways played everything else they've put out since then, BG2 (and Expansion), NWN (both expansion) - still played that on Avlis on-and-off since 2002 actually. That's a NWN persistent World thing. KotOR, Jade Empire and so on.
As for 'when will it end'? I dunno, kinda depends how things go I guess? There isn't a game company out there I decide I just 'refuse to play there games'. But Bungie and BioWare are the 2 I hold highest personally for what they've done in the past and how they've handled them selves so far. Generally speaking I know I'll like what they put out.
If things REALLY go down the crapper, it'll probably get turned into rental material till they hit gold again like they've been doing.

I skipped DAO
Being a big science fiction fan and a big storytelling fan I went crazy with Mass Effect to the point of buying a 360. The very concept of an inclusive trilogy really impressed me as it had never been done before.
After ME1 I went back to DAO and was floored.
I preorded ME2 and was very disapointed by the "if it wasnt good enough in ME1 let's hack it from the game" design strategy. The story felt like a succesion of disconnected short stories without the grand epic feeling of ME1. As far as I'm concerned it felt like"the TV Show based on the epic movie". It also felt like the "shooting" which should never have been more important than a sword strike in a medieval RPG went from being a "means to an end" (a fighting system in a RPG) to be at the forefront of Bioware's design reflections and I didn't care for that. Do what you do best.
I preordered DA2 because I loved ME1/DAO and DA2's concept. I felt like it had the ambition that ME2 lacked. Moving through time rather than through space seemed like a fantastic way to see the consequences of our actions, seeing the city evolve around us and reacting to us. Unfortunately Bioware didn't put the money were it's mouth was and the result contained barely a shade of what it could have been.
I preordered ME3 and I'm hoping that they won't do like DA2 and that they will make their initial ambitions of a trilogy a reality. That they won't do like ME2 and have the guts to refine and perfect what they do best instead of trying to be what they aren't.
If I'm pleasantly surprised then it will be another chapter in my Bioware story.
If it's another demonstration of Bioware recent inability to deliver what used to be their strong point (a unique way of delivering single player RPG storytelling) then it will be the end until they start another interesting era.
Either way they did lost my "preordering" anything.
