I started with Dragon Age: Origins. I had heard of (and wanted to play) KOTOR and BG, but never did. A friend of mine, who was a Bioware fan long before me, told me about DA:O before its release, I read about it and got it for my birthday a couple of weeks later.
I absolutely adored the game and still do.
After that I started hanging out on BSN. That was right before the release of Mass Effect 2, and I got currious. Bought both games and enjoyed them.
Pre-ordered DA2 and wasn't too happy with the direction they went for.
Pre-ordered the ME3 CE.
I'm not sure when my history with Bioware will come to an end, but I do hope they go back to the Origin-style when it comes to the DA-series.
Tell us your BioWare history! How did it start, and when will it end?

DA:O -> KOTOR -> DA: Awakening (and expansions) -> ME1 -> ME2 -> DA2 -> ME3
I'll stop buying Bioware Games when they stop being fun. With the exception of DA2, that hasn't happened.

for me it started with Baldur's Gate 2, a friend got me into it. My love for bioware really took off after playing KotOR, to this day my favorite game of all time, I love the story, the game play, everything. I think ME3 might be my last "game." We'll see how it turns out.

Have played every Bioware PC product except Jade Empire and most of the third party products based on their engine. Have pretty much given up on Bioware doing real RPG anymore. The EA execs all have consumer product backgrounds (CEO is fro Sara Lee) and not gaming industry backgrounds so they are only concerned with moving voumen of product and maximizing profit from DLC (read their investor briefing papers if you doubt this, it is all spelled out there.) Bioware has left to major hanging story lines in ME and in DA. If they do not bring those to a strong conclusion, I won't risk my money on future IP.

Started with Baldur's Gate back in the 90s, and the first is still my favorite of the two. I loved zoning into a new area and exploring the map. BG2 had the better story, but BG1 made me feel like I was wandering and living in the Forgotten Realms. I played through both with a friend, and it remains one of the greatest gaming experiences of my life. With Kickstarter bringing some old genres back, I hope that someday I get another game like that.
KOTOR was the Star Wars game I had waited my whole life to play - where I got to be a character in the universe. KOTOR2 was on its way to surpassing it before it got the rug pulled out from under it and we never got to play a finished product.
It took a few years before I got to play Jade Empire. I wasn't a huge fan of the gameplay (hack and slash isn't my thing), but of course I loved both the setting and the story. I'm looking forward to the day it returns.
How I feel about ME and ME2 will be colored greatly by how I end up feeling about ME3.
Dragon Age Origins was well-worth the wait. Dragon Age II I would have been happy to wait longer for. I think that game has greatness in it, but it would need to be retooled a bit to achieve it. Unfortunately, EA isn't really about correcting things - just getting that initial surge and moving on.
I never had any interest in TOR nor would I for any other MMO. I'm still waiting patiently for KOTOR3, and while they are at it, working with Obsidian to let them finish KOTOR2. And if it never happens, well...I'm still not playing TOR. :-)

It technically started with MDK2 but I was probably 11 years old when that came out and it frustrated me so much that I quit and never played it again. My love for Bioware started with KOTOR and will continue until they stop making games (although, it's really the Edmonton team that I love since I didn't like the first Dragon Age, didn't bother playing the second, and I have no interest in The Old Republic).

I started with KotOR, because I'm a huge Star Wars fan, and it pretty much remains my favourite game to this day. After that I played Jade Empire on a friend's Xbox and liked it a lot. I still think it's a very underrated game. Then I got Neverwinter Nights and enjoyed it as well.
I pre-ordered Dragon Age: Origins because I knew I was going to love it - I already knew that I liked the Bioware RPG format even though the setting was new, and I wasn't disappointed. I have sunk a hell of a lot of hours into that game. Sadly, I was disappointed with Dragon Age II - but I can't complain too much because it was the free copy of Mass Effect 2 that I got for buying DA2 that got me started on the ME universe. I had avoided it because I've never been great at shooting games, but once I played through the first bit of ME2 I was hooked and bought ME1 so I could take a Shepard through from beginning to end. In hindsight, I'm not really sure why I avoided ME for so long since the setting is just the kind of space fantasy that I really love.
I got ToR on release day. I can't see me subscribing much past hitting max level since we're already raiding in WoW but I think Bioware have pitched the levelling experience just right, especially if you're doing it with others like I am.
I can't see my Bioware history ending any time soon, but if Dragon Age 3 doesn't head back towards the classic format compared to the new console game style then I might be wary about picking up whatever IP they do next - I can't see me pre-ordering a completely unknown quantity like I did with DAO.

Started wiht BG1, palyed every RPG they made after that (except Jade Empire).
DA2 was a ig dassapoinment.
ME2 somewhat less so..the technical polish was there, but the writing suffered. It was like Transformer 3 or new ST movie for me.
Dunno what happens next. Will wait to see some reviews and impressions. Already saw some leaked footage from playtroughs. the cutscenes are as epic as always...but the story/writing/tone/atmosphere? Not appealing.

Started with Baldurs Gate and will probably end with Mass Effect 3.
Bioware really needs to buck up their ideas and make the games with some substance once again and not dumbed down console games.
After DA2 and then SWTOR I'm done with buying their games as they've gone from best in the business RPG developers to mediocre action game sellouts.

Neverwinter Nights was my first Bioware game, got the delux edition after reading about it in PCGamer. Got hooked, especially to the plot and characters. Ah, adventuring with Deekin in the Undrentide, doomity doom doom! After that it was a back track to Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale sagas. Played them to death. And when I was done, I discovered the fan mods, so I dug them up and played them to death again =)
I'd been a loyal Bullfrog/Lionhead Studios fan before hand, so this RPG switch from strategy/god games was a nice change. Next came Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, and that got me addicted to Star Wars games. So when KOTOR 1/2 came out I was on them like a shot. Again, brilliant! Bioware had a way of making characters seem so real, just made the entire gaming experience for me.
Dragon Age and Mass Effect kind of assaulted me at once. A mate showed me DAO/ME2 and I tripped up over it, wanting to know where these gems had been hiding. So back I went, and found none other than ME1 sitting on my Dad's shelf, right under my nose for ages. Irony for you =)
However, ME3 will probably be the last Bioware game I will get. I've a lot of uphevel planned in the near future, and my finances ain't going to be pretty. As a Laptop gamer, it ain't a cheap hobby. So until I find a solid job, Shep's story will be my last RPG/Action venture.
Here's hoping Bioware delivers and ME3 ends with a bang =D

my first was Kotor dam that game its sweet candies for me
i love it with all my heart, then went to kotor 2 ( not attached to bioware but w.e) , jade empire, Mass effect 1 fantastic stuff i felt like it was star wars with guns only and it was really nice also gave me a sensation of star trek sorta, Dragon age origins: loved that game, mass effect 2 i felt a bit laydown about some stuff but nonetheless i enjoyed the game ive played it tons, and its gonna end with Mass effect 3 as is it obvious already therer are some / alot of stuff that i dont like those changes that they have made and the path they have gone to its not what i expected / wanted from the end of mass effect trilogy so its gonna be for sure the last game i get from bioware. period

Started with Dragon Age: Origins. Played it, loved it, played it again and again.
Won free copy of ME2, bought ME for the full experience. Played ME for a while, never finished my first playtrough, always went back to playing DA:O.
Then came DA2. Played it, was unsure about what to make of it. Played it again, labeled it as one of the biggest disappointments of my gaming life and never touched it again. More or less lost interest in DA franchise due to new direction.
Played ME again. Finished the game, loved it. Played ME2, liked it a lot. Lots of playthroughs of both following. Mass Effect became one of my favourite franchises ever.
Mass Effect 3: it started with 100% complete excitement and a N7 edition preorder. Excitement and anticipation got reduced by many major and minor news about the game in the months to follow. As of now there are about 5-10% of my initial enthusiasm left and although I will purchase and play ME3 I'm almost sure it will be my last Bioware game for a long time.

I had a great amount of studying to do and lots of stuff at work too, so logically, I was looking for some other game to play in addition to Crysis. I read some reviews about ME and bought it based on what I had read. I was horrified at the low quality of the hungarian subtitles (which could not be turned off!!!), but I was taken by the story and gameplay. I sold my hungarian copy and bought the digital version to have it in english. I bought the ME2 digital deluxe and preordered my ME3 about 3 hours ago.
I took part in SWTOR beta testing, and in spite of growing to liking it in the end, I won't play it because I don't agree with monthly subscriptions.
Erm.. that's about it.

And actually...let me reiterate...if you have a friend and can get a couple of computers networked together in the same space, it is an absolute blast to play Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 together. You could get more than two players involved if you wanted, and for a few sessions we did that, but it always felt a little too crowded. Two felt the right number to experience the story. Obviously, for an older game, the learning curve is steeper and it doesn't look as sharp, but it still holds up pretty darn well IMO.

Mine started with ME1, then ME2, I own a copy of Dragon's Age Origins, but ME3 will be my third game from them I have played.
When will it end? Hard to say. I will probably stick with the ME franchise for as long as it exists, assuming it doesn't go the FPS route completely

I think it would be quicker to list the games made by bioware that I haven't played. Suffice it to say I have been a long time fan of pretty much all of their games. Between Bioware and Black Isle/Obsidian they are probably my most played and most times played through games I own. It's really hard to find games with good stories that aren't of these 2 companies.

Before KOTOR I never even heard of bioware (I was always more of a console gamer) but I bought KOTOR on release and loved it after that the sequel (which I didn't care for much but it was not made by bioware) got Jade empire great game but not as good as KOTOR1 imo.
Then for a while I didn't really play much games anymore I didn't buy Mass Effect until less than a year ago loved it and when I finisht it I went to buy ME2 and preorderd 3 a few weeks ago.

I blame my dad for this, really. He's got all of the early Bioware games (Baldur's gate, etc) and I have rest of the Bioware games (KOTOR even though he owns that one too, Jade Empire... etc)

I had pretty much given up on the CRPG genre back in the 90s, since CRPGs kept all the bad features of PnP RPGs without actually managing to implement the good parts (with rare exceptions). I knew about BG1, and was vaguely interested, but D&D hadn't been one of my favorite RPG systems since 1983 or so, so I never bothered to pick it up.
Then I played the BG2 demo disc from CGW, which included all of Chateau Irenicus. I was blown away. Still didn't like D&D too much except for the nostalgia value, but here was a CRPG that was actually trying to be a good RPG (and yes, I had completely ignored Fallout at this time) . Regrettably, playing the BG2 demo spoils BG1, but I still went back to play BG1 before playing BG2 . (It did help to know which BG1 party I should use to make the BG2 start work properly -- I can't imagine the level of whining we'd hear nowadays if Bio did a sequel that so blatantly ignored your choices in the earlier game.
BG1 I found somewhat disappointing relative to BG2, mostly because of the weak companion dialogs and the zone-mowing exploration. But still a pretty good game. And BG2 fully lived up to my expectations for it.
After that... well, I'm still here, and will probably be here for the forseeable future. I'm luckier than some of the long-time Bio fans, since like a lot of PnP players from the 80s I find many CRPG traditions to be either worthless or downright harmful to the role-playing; this means that when Bio deviates from those traditions I'm more likely to be happy than bothered. I was lobbying for KotOR to have no inventory system whatsoever, for instance. Didn't win that one, but came close with ME2.

Ok, so here it goes:
1) BG (then TotSC)
2) BG2 (and ToB)
3) Neverwinter Nights with all the expansions - I'd stll be playing the two Persistant Worlds that I love if I had more time
4) SW: KotOR - played a lot of that game... HK - my love....
5) Jade Empire
6) ME - got all DLCs to it (not many, considering there was Pinnacle station and free DLC Bring Down the Sky). Shame that beating the P.Station isn't mentioned anywhere on the ME2, not even as a throphy in commander's cabin
. I've liked the game, although I'd prefer KotOR combat style.. .. Still I was ok with that
7) DA:O - got most of the DLCs to it... I think I've left out L.Song and that Darkspawn thing . I also add here Awakening
8) ME2 - I have all DLCs to this game. I like it, but I do recognize a change of genre made here even more so than in ME
9) DA2 - pre-ordered it... was disappointed... played it a couple of times for checking two factions... never touched it again... I definately won't be buying any DLC for that game.
10) Pre-ordered ME3 Digital Deluxe Edition. I want to see the completion of the story, but at the same time it's the last pre-order from me in near future on Bioware's games
I'll most likely acquire DA3 at some point in the future for a bargain price and will wait some period after next Bioware's releases before deciding on a purchase. I'm not going to buy any MMO title - period. MMOs are much different experience from what the Persistant Worlds of NWN offered and still offer.
