problem with launching origin after recent update

 I double click on the origin shortcut and it doesn't launch
i know this is a problem adressed earlier and i have tried making origin an exception on my firewall
i have tried accessing a demo from the website and clicking 'launch origin' 
and they all don't work, I don't want to uninstall origin because I'm worried my Mass Effect 3 and the Demo wil be uninstalled (it took me half a day to download and install all of that) 

luckily mass effect 3 can launch i click it and i get the splash screen telling me when it unlocks (release date) however i cannot launch origin itself (which ealier i clicked enable cloud save) or the demo

mass effect comes out in a few hours from now and i would hate to have to reinstall/download everything because of a glitch

if anyone can suggest me recent fixes to the "no origin launch" issue as i have tried all old methods or give me a link to patch origin that would be awesome

Have you tried contacting Origin's technical support for this? (Especially since it started after you updated it)

I'm sure you are aware that Origin isn't a product of BioWare.

As far as I know, you can reinstall it without problems, just backup your "C:\\Users\\User\\Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 3 Demo" folder, delete origin, reinstall the demo and replace the folder with your backup.

If you're worried about multiplayer progress, I don't think your progress will move to the full game, if it does you shouldn't be worried though since your multiplayer progress is stored online and not locally as far as I know.
