so I am wondering if anyone knows a fix to this a have a friend his computer is well over the max specs for the game in fact the game itself places amazingly however when he uses the toolset he is fine up until he tries to add something to change something with a area he can view modules with tons of placeables but if he selects one or adds a new placeables or tries to change the terrain he lags out badly. We have checked the directx drivers and everything seems fine. Any help would be most appreciated.

Spec's
its a 3ghz dual core 4gig ddr3 ati 4650 he has.net 2.0 and 3.5.1 and 4.0 and XNA for both and is running
windows 7 64bit and memory use is low nothing in the background at all tried the affinity for ether core tried running in window xp sp2 sp3 compatiblity disabled theme and aero and ran as admin. Also just unistalled .net 3.5.1 and .net 4.0 and reinstalled and XNA and Directx9.0c redistributed and uninstalling and reinstalling the game and CCcleaning. Still just lags horribly whenever he selects a object and tries to place it or moves a object already

-resinstalled .net framework 3.0
-resinstalled .net framework 4.0
-resinstalled Java 32/64
-running the toolset with compatibility and/or theme / visual turned off
-reinstalling NWN2 and expansions up to SOZ
- video card drivers

Hi Nevguard - odd that no-one's replied yet.
Tech stuff really isn't my area, but while you're waiting for someone who knows what they're talking about to reply, you could try adding back in previous versions of Direct X and .Net - they're all supposed to be compatible with each other and may be needed by NWN2.

The set up you list is very similar to my own, and the toolset runs fine for me on Win7 64 home premium with no compatibility settings used or running as admin.

Hope you find a way to make it work :-)

Cly.

Has he tried shutting off any virus checking software; if not then try disabling it. Does he have any unusual input devices; if so then try disconnecting them. If it isn't CPU. Maybe some kind of interrupt is happening.

he has AVG same as me and runs fine on mine only other thing he has is PC Tools for firewall but don't see how that would be causing the lag that ya can see in the video mean he clicks like 5 times and it takes forever to place each object can't even see the drag.

So here is the fix if anyone else has the problem. Apparently if you have PC tool firewall v6 it will cause the toolset to lag even disabling the firewall won't fix the problem you have to upgrade the PC toof firewall to any version after v6 and it fixes the problem.
