I just made DW warrior and I just cleared ostagar. On my other mage character I'm in the caverns for the Urn of scared ashes quest. I've read that if you corrupt the Urn to unlock the reaver spec leliana and wynne will attack you. Those two who are in my group as usual are with me in the caverns and I'm almost to the trials part. I'd hate to have to walk all the way back to replace them for two others and then try to finish the dungeon without them.

All I want to know is for  DW warrior is the Reaver spec worth it combined with berserker to go through all this trouble? Any tips on another useful spec for DW? Or is reaver viable enough for me to waste my time and struggle through? Thanks :pinched:

You can change out members of your party in the area where the High Dragon is (for obvious reasons) and besides, if you're willing to do the Trials part twice you can taint the ashes then reload and not taint them, and you'll still have the spec.

What he said. Fastest way to get the spec without pissing anyone off would be:
  • Swap out Leli/Wynne outside the Gauntlet after clearing it
  • Run back in, corrupt the ashes
  • Kill the keeper when he attacks you
  • Collect your specialization from the dragon guy outside
  • Reload
You'll still have the spec.

And yeah, definitely worth unlocking if you're going for DPS.

Well, all he asked was if the reaver spec was worth it, not how to cheat to get around it. And yes, I'd say, at least for the first skill, where you drain corpses to restore health, it's a very useful skill that will keep you alive if you don't have many heals. I don't, however, buy / craft health potions -- only use what I have on hand, so if you're a pot spammer, then there's no need. Also, if you're attempting solo/duo/all warrior play, it could be very helpful.

I don't get why people just don't set the game to Casual when going for specialization unlocks. You can breeze through any enemy.

Just removing Leliana and Wynne from your party won't be enough to prevent them from leaving (one of them will confront you when you go back to camp).

If you have high coercion, you can keep Lil (it's an intimidation check after you pour the blood in the ashes). You still get -10, but nothing a few gifts can't fix.

Well wynne left once we got to camp which is... horrible but the game can still be completed without her...however it will be a struggle.

I still don't understand how Wynne found out, I betrayed the Cultists after i got Reaver and even killed Brother Genitivi so he couldn't tell anyone about it, WHO TOLD YOU WYNNE?
