Dear Bioware, i would like to ask you this permission. may i create a version of Mass Effect 3 Forums for fans, an unofficial version for fansand ME, ME2, ME3 Gamers alike. i use ProBoards forums  for each of my works even for my websites too. they are great to use. so i was wondering do i have permission to make the forums? i generally ask first all time when i come to certain things that require permission or a approval.

i await your response

Best of Luck to your ME3 Midnight Launch

As far as I'm aware permission is not required for a fan site, but you cannot copy the official site in any way, things like logos and stuff like that, I also believe a disclaimer is required stating you are not affiliated with the official sites.

This.
Just do it if you want.  The only thing they could try and get you on is if you use their branding....i.e. use their official logos, art work ect.

EDIT: I followed your link.  If they wanted to (not saying they would), they could ask you to remove the ME3 logo you are using now.

EA/Bioware has no copyright claim on your discussion about their game(s), so you absolutely can create forums. That said, problems arise when you start using images from the game or websites that haven't been included in some sort of "fansite pack" that has been authorized for use by third parties. You'll also have to be careful about people uploading or linking to problematic/illegal stuff. But a discussion forum? That's fine. Nobody can tell you not to talk with your friends about something.

that's true, i'm usually careful about the people when they join my forums. i run about 5 or 7 forums currently (including ME3 Forums) so i watch out for those people doing that. and ban them, unless they had permission from the people they had stated. i would ask for proof, if they can't provide proof i would say this, "please do not use my forums for those iilegal activity or please leave the forums so may others can enjoy the forums without drama." that's something i would say along the lines.

Just make sure it is obvious for anyone following that link that it is a fan based forum and you'll be fine, I think.
