I have a question for those who have played the game.

Based on the videos out there, War Assets can be found both on planets and in deep space between planets inside a system.

However, can planet-side Anomalies/War Assets be tracked down via planet scanning without using the Scan Pulse first ( thus increasing Reaper Awareness) ? Thus reserving the risky Pulse only for deep-space Assets.

Also, are War Assets/Sidequests present in systems not (yet) under Reaper control? Do Assets/Sidequests appear/disappear when a system changes from "clean" to "Reaper Control" ? Are there even such instances where previously "safe" systems come under Reaper control, or do the "safe" ones disappear and replaced by different systems under Reaper control?

1) You have to scan to pick up planet side assets. Also there are NEVER assets inbetween planets, only fuel debris for the normandy.

2) a) Theres no such thing as sidequests in ME3, only N7 missions, but if you walk through the citadel you will randomly get quests which are mostly along the line of "if you find this on your missions, bring it to me so I can buff your war asset rating." War assets only appear in about 75% of Reaper controlled systems. Bioware kind of did a bad job on indicating which system has resources etc. c) You cannot rid a system of Reaper Control, just over the span of the game more and more systems will fall to the Reapers.

Comforting to hear deep-space anomalies are fuel-only. Scanning every inch of interplanetary space in a single system would really be a chore. Pinging planets is much more manageable.
