Hey guys, I' ve played DA series and ME but I just bought BG for the obvious reasons but I couldn't play it. It' s unlike any other game I' ve ever played and I don't know what to do, wherever I go I die. Can someone point me to the right direction.
Where can I find a BG guide?

A few suggestions/pointers:
- The lower your AC the better -- AC is shown in the upper right of your inventory screen
- If your character is one who can use a large shield, buy one in Candlkeep and use it! You will possibly meet a number of archers and that shield will make a difference.
- If you character can use a helmet be sure to buy one in Candlekeep as well
- If you are a mage of some type, memorize sleep
- Recruit everyone you can at first - safety in numbers. Imoen will join you, Montaron and Xzar will join you if you have Imoen talk to them (they are on the road, on the map Gorion gets killed)
- If you go to the Friendly Arm Inn, let Montaron be in front then take out that assassin (Tarnesh). Once inside, near the InnKeep there's Khalid and Jaheira. Recruit them now you got 6 people. Equip them best you can then take your group to Nashkel on the road at first, so that you can get your first Bhaal power.
- In Nashkel in a field is an Ankheg Armor. Very helpful for any of your fighter types.
- In the early levels, dieing is not unusual -- just be sure it isn't you dieing. If it's the NPC who dies, you can raise them at temples (for a fee)
If you google search for Dan Simpson's Baldur's Gate walkthrough, you can use that if you get stuck.

In BG using missile weapons is far easier than melee, so make sure all of your characters have them equipped. In vanilla (unmodded) BG1 enemies will start off by targetting the nearest character to them. It's helpful therefore to create a tank, i.e. a character with the lowest AC possible and reasonable HPs, to send ahead of the rest of the party to get all the enemies to focus on them. The rest of the party can then use missile weapons or spells in reasonable safety.

The first guide I used was
http://www.pocketpla...amp/bgguide.htm
There are others around too, but this one is without spoilers.

yes, I use dudleyville extensively - as a walkthrough rather then a guide
to OP: Also, do not feel you have to kill everything you see, running is a good option especially early in the game.

Gamebanshee also have helpful stuff when you first start, but I would use such info as little as possible.
half the fun is in the learning.
And yes running away is often the best option, and when fighting enemies who have no ranged weapons, then ranged weapons such as bows and slings can take out an enemy far more powerful than you are so long as you keep out of range of their melee weapons.

Dudleyville Walkthrough. I agree w/USS Norway and glester. Dudleyville kinda takes you on an unusual path but it allows you to strengthen your party in advance of the more difficult encounters.
For armor, weapons, gems, magic items, moster information I think Mikes RPG Center is the best out there. He also has a walkthrough.
Be careful. There are spoilers galore in both.
Have fun. I envy you being able to play for the first time.
