Because having unlocked more races means different ways to play and more fun  whichs increases how long you want to play multi so why chagre money for something so small like multiplayer unlocks just for having fun face it smart guy it's greed and i'm sick of it, day one DLC i can accept but this is a step further once again.

You realize you don't have to pay money for multiplayer unlocks? You can earn the packs just from playing the multiplayer.

****ing hell, I hate this forum sometimes.

wtf do you think of course i know that but it's still more fun to have it unlocked faster but no the only way is still to pay, hate it if you want nobody cares anyway

...So you think the only way you'll have more fun is to spend money on something you can unlock for FREE?

What the **** do you want, them to give X versions of all weapons and all character classes unlocked with the Starter pack?

okay still not sure how you buy Bioware credit and transfer it over to your 360 version of the game...

also...if you are spending REAL money on these packs when you buy the pack are you getting the level X item rather than the next level up and can you choose a pack that you know will have something in it you want?

and how much real are we talking about here???

U are buying packs not items so there is a catch.Good luck.

It's the principle on which FTP MMO's work.

No i'm not gonna spend money i'll take my time to unlock it but i don't still like that it's more and more common to charge for everything in games nowadays and i never said that it's more fun to spend money just to have the whole package unlocked so you don't have to be stuck for many hours playing one character and a specific style until you have unlocked another and then finally get some diversity.

In the full version of Mass Effect 3 multiplayer, players obtain Reinforcement Packs using credits earned while playing the game.  These packs may include weapons, upgrades, consumables and new characters to play. Based on player feedback during the demo period, the drop rate for rare race/class combinations and weapons has been improved.

For players who do not wish to spend time earning these multiplayer credits through matches, they will have the option to purchase certain packs through real currency.  Our goal is to allow all Mass Effect 3 players the ability to experience the best equipment, characters, etc in multiplayer regardless of how much time they have to spend. :)

Seems fair enough.:P

I'm aware of that. But I've played several FTP MMO's, exhausted what fun I could get with them, and moved on, never paying a cent. Never found it worthwhile to spend money on them.

If you want to spend money on something like this - and I don't see why you would, but whatever, it's your money - then go right ahead. If not, whatever. Just ejoy the damn multiplayer and unlock stuff normally.

No, I don't get it. I must have missed the part where I'm supposed to be upset some people are willingly paying money for something I'm going to get for free.

That's fair enough. But there are people who will do so, which makes it a sound theory if you are trying to milk money out of something without a subscription cost.

I hope you have read this.Encouraging it will lead to more of milking the customer and enticing him to buy stuff coz there is no chance to procure it in the normal way.

Maybe it's just the libertarian in me, but if they're providing a service that people are willing to pay for, I'm inclined to let them be. No matter how ridiculous I may find the service, or that people actually are spending money on it.

I'm never gonna pay for something you can get for free but playing one character until you unlocked another which can take some time is boring and gets repetive fast so i meant that i dislike that they charge just so you can get it faster, i don't care a sh*t about about buying or not just that Bioware try to get greedy at all costs.

Nope, still not making sense. Again, what do you expect, they're just going to throw all top-tier items and extra characters at you with the Starter Pack?

And all six classes are unlocked to begin with, albeit without the alien race options. If you're finding it boring, just make a new character.

Well atleast we know why they put the random packs into the game instead of a real store.

Lets just hope this doesnt turn into Battlefield play 4 free, where you have to pay to get the best equipment.

I like how Bioware doesn't even tell us this until someone finds out a day before release.

Can we also get a decent ending to the single player for some more money? Cause the game needs it.

Don't cry later saying "I spent x $ on packs and haven't still got the thing that I was looking for"

Can you keep your QQ to relevant threads?

Seriously we get it you don't like the ending, don't buy the game if it bothers you so much. You vote for change within a company using your wallet.

Okay this you can't mistake, i want all content for free yes and have it from scratch because most of the unlocks took forever  to unlock and being stuck with a single character at best until you get lucky to unlock a character was quite boring so having the stuff from start would make it more fun from the first time you play too and paying for that seems pointless.
