Yes, you explain that as the reasoninig, but from what we've seen from the last two games you've made, your intention is money. With the ten dollar From Ashes already, you're making bank. I understand that, but don't try to excuse it. :|

Pro tip: Thats the intention of every company. To make money.

Pro Answer: In this case, only from suckers who can't beat the game. Why play the multiplayer anyway, if that's the case?

MP is not needed to get the best ending. MP is a hell of a fun though. Letting people cheat their way through it with real currency... how long before EA starts selling aim-bot hakcs, wall hacks and god-mode hacks? Me wants them... NOT.

In the full version of Mass Effect 3 multiplayer, players obtain Reinforcement Packs using credits earned while playing the game.  These packs may include weapons, upgrades, consumables and new characters to play. Based on player feedback during the demo period, the drop rate for rare race/class combinations and weapons has been improved.

For players who do not wish to spend time earning these multiplayer credits through matches, they will have the option to purchase certain packs through real currency.  Our goal is to allow all Mass Effect 3 players the ability to experience the best equipment, characters, etc in multiplayer regardless of how much time they have to spend. :)

I am commander Sheppard and this is my favourite shop on the Citadel ...:wizard:

Is it possible to paragon/renegade for discount ?

I guess it´s up to renegade act option used against Chris or someone else from BioWare :D ...

I like how everyone keeps talking about "unfair advantages" when this is a co-op game.

No, I don't get it. I must have missed the part where I'm supposed to be upset some people are willingly paying money for something I'm going to get for free.

I'm never gonna pay for something you can get for free but playing one character until you unlocked another which can take some time is boring and gets repetive fast so i meant that i dislike that they charge just so you can get it faster, i don't care a sh*t about about buying or not just that Bioware try to get greedy at all costs.

and if you have everthing right from the start would that be getting boring too?

It's just the paying method i'm against, if they gonna have a faster way too unlock characters why charge money for it can't everything be free you still pay for the game and all DLC.

Woooo! Now I can try as hard as possible to unlock weapons while selfish children run around on MP with "omig0d i haff best wueppns wever!" and proceed to show off and think of themselves as the bestest players ever based on their Widow XIV and ammo mods.

Hooah.

-----

No really, I don't care. 60,000 in-game credits to buy a Spectre Pack OR spend 60 BioWare Points. 60,000... lol, that's like 3 silver rounds. No big deal for me.

You know a book called "The Cheating Culture"? There is one now about "Olive Oil fraud". they're both specific about Uncle Sam's legacy. Hey, Enrom only wanted to make money. Those guys who vaporized over 1 trillion dollars from the world economy in 2008 too. It is corruption, plain and simple. Would you do anything for money?

...But there -isn't- a faster way to unlock characters. They're not just going to give every freaking thing at the start of the game. What is so hard to comprehend about that?

I played abut 10 hours of demo MP had all the best items between levels 3-6 paying for it does not seem worthwhile asthere is simply not allot of content to find ,unlike Diablo 2 for example where you could play for months and not get the item you want that game needed a store :) D3 I am looking at you.

Well atleast we know why they put the random packs into the game instead of a real store.

Lol pretty much this.  EXACTLY THIS,  I say.  Not that I'm really that bothered.  I mean, it is just coop.  So other people having better weapons and mods can really only help you.  Sure it will help them rank up easier with the better tools, and thus faster, but ultimately it is not a competition... even though there are leaderboards...

So are we really comparing Bioware to Enrom now? TTYL There's a Reaper at my front door asking me for money  as a protection fee.

Sry scratch what i wrote i read way too fast, it's just about purchasing packs with playing or real currency, somehow i mixed in that you get a pack with everything if you buy a specific pack so forget it, i did get a blackout i understand why didn't understand now.

Forza had something like this, I never purchased any of it though. If I have left over Points or extra I will consider. Anything Mass Effect I will do.

All you need to do is just play the game to get the bonus characters and weapons. They already said the drop rates improved so...it'll be like the demo but faster. I'm not understanding the problem..

As far as I'm concerned, so long as items/weapons/races/classes are unlockable through gameplay, having them for sale also isn't an issue at all. Bioware has the potential to make more money, and I still have access to the upgrades and other equipment. Some people may choose to spend real money for this stuff, some wont, doesn't affect me in any way.

I have an idea. Why not just have Shepard toons in EA that you can buy everything for? Imba weapons, customized this and that etc? Just let the people who have money just buy their way to an imba toon? I mean... Its good business. Its been good business buyins and selling imba stuff ingame since EQ. I knew people who made a living doing it. Bioware is just cutting out the middleman and saving some time for people. Thats grand!

The core client bases or even the normal MP pew pew crew wont mind. Hey, they only spend dozens plus hours ingame to get what a guy with a bigger wallet can get in two clics of a mouse. Its not at all going to alienate a wider clientbase. Its not at all going to water down the sense of achievement for gettin certain items.

Hell, those few who have the money to buy their customized items will more than amply make up for the loss of clients who feel cheated or neglected at all. They will applaud you, because that extra cash will go straight into greater storybuilding and game mechanics, not toward hollow items such as juggling stats on a new weapon or item. Its all good? I mean.. which company ever went ****** up ignoring their clientbase? Its just business... right?

Yo Chris, In regards to this real currency, could you make it so microsoft points are used rather than your Bioware points? it's how I make all ME related purchases.

They said a lot of things which may not be exactly as they said. And why would drop rates be improved if they can profit from it making it even worse than in the Demo? It took me 5 days to unlock everything, items and chars in the demo. I'll let you know how it goes with the full game.

Every company has a Mission in their founding statute. Not every company has "To make money" stated in their Mission. I'm not aware of any which has it. Making money is a consequence of doing a good job. When anything is valid to make money, it usually end up in trouble even if not in a short term.
