Is there better hairstyles for femshep than the ones in the demo?

From what i've seen, no. Didn't waste to much time in the character creator, but from what i've seen its the same kit as in the demo.

@ Rikbarla - if I recall correctly, did you not just crash into a collector ship? Im not 100% sure of the exact time-line between the very end of ME2 and Start of ME3, but I doubt they had THAT much time seeing as the split second you left the Collectors "Space" it flashed the Reapers coming... I suppose I could load up my ME2 and see, but anyhow, I think its dark and cables everywhere because of the fact the game takes place damn quick after ME2 ended.

EDIT - In response to one of your "Cables everywhere and dark, bad lighting" that you disliked. Also I did just google the very ending of ME2, the Reapers are already entering the galaxy when the screen flashes them very quickly. Thus I can almost guarentee there was VERY LITTLE to NO, time to repair the ship fully, as they bearly repaired it to begin with during the final battle/suicide mission.

Good point. The Normandy was heavily damaged. Could be they simply hadn't finished putting it back together.

I'm just gonna ask here too.

Does anyone know if N7 Defender Armor is customizable?

True, of course. However it seems kind of weird for the alliance to change the cerberus lighting to a new style of lighting that produces less light.

Having a blast so far.  Playing on PC at 1920x1080 res all graphic options maxed.  Imported my ME1/ME2 shep and Vanguard kicks BUTT!!

So far my impressions are:

*  Animations and textures are the same as the demo (poor)
*  Same with lipsyncing
*  Overall art direction and graphics have improved from ME2
*  Initial mission has more dialog than the demo version
*  Import decisions and relationships matter
*  Great communication via looks and facial expressions, so far
Weapon mods are great fun...feels like ME1 without a lot of the clutter.  Good mix of ME1 and ME2 system
*  Only got to the second mission but battles are tougher...for sure.  Haven't walked around the Normandy yet.

Awesome so far!!   Image IPB

2nd best thing I've read today..AWESOME!

Question: were there more facial options when editing your Shepard's appearance than there were in the demo?

It's GrimDark Normandy ;).

Seriously, it's just a designer's choice. Cerberus SR2 was too much of Star Trekkian all too flowery like for too many people, so they put a little extra grimdark.

Fair enough. And i can see how it fits with the general theme(buh bye all organic life) of the game, but grew so attached to the  "new"  normandy in ME2. I kind of liked the lighter, more colourfull tone of the normandy in it.

I'm playing, too. I was sceptical about Vega at first before I played the game but the end of the mars mission just give me a lol for his action and I'm lovin this kind of character. The game is damn fun so far, don't worry about alle whiners on bsn. ;-)

Edit: For me the new Normandy is better than the ceberus one, a little dark is better than a sip full of white light imo...

Animations/lip syncing still poor?

How the hell did Bioware mess this up? If they could just keep it the same as ME2.....

Animations are a lot better. In ME2 the only animation was shepard standing with his arms crossed. Still does that a lot, but not as often as in ME2, and definitely not in such out of place moments as he did in ME2. I think i even saw him scratching his chin once when talking to Hacket.

Lip sync was fine when i started paying attention to it, and i started paying attention to it from the end of the mars mission.

OP said it was just the same as the demo though, which was absolutely horrendous. Anderson looked like he was in the special olympics. The rolling and melee attack looks like you are warping about like mad.

My bad, tought you were reffering to the conversation animations. Cause those annoyed the hell out of me in ME2.

The gameplay animations look the same as in the demo. Can't say i really noticed them being horrendous. Their not the absolute best, and i agree that the running looks "off" but other then that, i'm ok with it.

That's the problem with Earth. The animations are "not the best" and they are more in-your-face than in pretty much any other part of the game, making them look... uhh... not so good, I guess.

Thinking about it, the animations on earth did seem to stand out.

I guess it doesn't really help that the running animation is the one that looks the weirdest, and that on earth there are quite a few sections where you do nothing but run.
The moments on mars where i was running around, i didn't notice it that much with bullets flying around and everything.

I kinda have embraced the running animation; looks weird as hell, but it cracks me up, as NO ONE runs like that.

is the Character Creator in the real game the exact same thing as the one in the demo?

are there more options ( like hairstyles ) in the real game?

and, if you import your ME2 Shep, will she look the same in ME3?

Animations aren't bad. The game still looks and feels like Mass Effect. The engine did not undergo a major overhaul. But, the game plays tight, and is better in almost every area. Not leaps and bounds, but little things.

Love the emotion so far...my decisions (and patience) have been rewarded so far.

Most important issue for me: Is there a means of adjusting the fov?

Not in game menus or config utility.  It is annoying to me...but it has been a problem since ME1 so no big deal

Ok, so is the coalesced.bin still moddable as it was in the demo? (Can you open it using this tool)

Just a heads up to those playing, apparently quests CAN time out, so if you hear about something I wouldn't put it off. Any verification you guys experience to this effect would be great. It sounds like if you get a side quest you should do it immediately.
