For that reason i don't know how an imported shep will look. My guess is that bro-shep will look, well, like broshep. Femshep on the other hand, i'm not so sure about. I'm pretty sure that i couldn't find the proper hair style that my femshep had in ME1 and ME2.

Most important issue for me: Is there a means of adjusting the fov?
Not in game menus or config utility. It is annoying to me...but it has been a problem since ME1 so no big deal
Ok, so is the coalesced.bin still moddable as it was in the demo? (Can you open it using this tool)
Don't know...don't care enough to try. I would imagine it is, though.

do you still get to choose your squadmates for missions or is it scripted
You can pick em.
Though i must add that after the mars mission your team only consists of 2 squad mates, so you don't have much choice.

Is the upgrade system similar to ME 2, as in where you research stuff for upgrades at the terminal?

Also, I think you said you played a Vanguard, does he still suck in Insanity?

One thing I haven't heard anything about:

No. Upgrades are either bought or found, and can be applied at either the weapon bench or the armor loadout terminal in your quarters.
If you buy stuff from a citadel store however, a link gets set up with your Normandy on ship store, so you don't have to constantly travel back to a certain store to look for stuff they sell, you can just check the lower deck of the normandy.
Not sure if this changes later on, but 4 hours in the game i have found no indication that the entire mineral mining and trading those in for upgrades is making a come-back.

No need to spoil anything but have you met any of the ME2 main characters/squadmates in the game? Do they get a decent amount of screentime or are just plain cameos?
You meet one of your old squadmates on Mars. And of course Kaiden or Ash joins you from the moment you leave earth.

Can someone clarify if this is really the case?

have you guys done many sidequests? a lot of people are posting that they are timed and that you should complete them as soon as you get them to avoid failing them.
I havn't done anything worth mentioning so far, but what you heard is correct: Do the side missions the moment you get them. I heard them say it during IGN's video coverage, so i think it's best to believe it's true what they are saying.

Animations/lip syncing still poor?
How the hell did Bioware mess this up? If they could just keep it the same as ME2.....
Animations are a lot better. In ME2 the only animation was shepard standing with his arms crossed. Still does that a lot, but not as often as in ME2, and definitely not in such out of place moments as he did in ME2. I think i even saw him scratching his chin once when talking to Hacket.
Lip sync was fine when i started paying attention to it, and i started paying attention to it from the end of the mars mission.
As you speal of Shepards Animation, how is the general body language in conversation?
That was one thing I disliked in BW Games (well in other too).
Sheploo/Femshep often changed from standing to armscrossed, lean back/forward (talking with Aria in Omega) and so on.

The pre-release hate for this game was unfounded IMO. Game is bloody fantastic so far.

Like someone said you can pick, but sometimes its like in the loyality mission of me2 that you have to take someone for mission reasons.mitch shepard for ash wrote...

How can you even play the game early? I thought it was just the people that had the space program copies...
I work in a gamestore. Of course i'm not allowed to take the game home with me already, but no problem playing it at work. Was actually my day off, but had to spend some time with the game. Thats also the reason i didn't have a chance to import my ME2 save files. didn't care much for taking my hard drive over to work.

So far, it's better. Couple of new animations(like scratching his chin, couple of others as well)
Still, lot of arm crossing during conversations, but it's better. More attention to facial expressions so far.

Noob question, the beggining of the game is the same as the demo right? The Shepard being on trial fr his actions on Arrival was taken out right?
