Is there a way to import our Shepards but start them at level 1 i/o 30? It feels like cheating.. heh

Oh believe me you. You might start at 30, you might have DLC, but it sure as **** isn't easy.

I assume you're playing Insanity as we have that in common. But I am sure that game has level scaling so enemy will always adapt to our char level, regardless of what it is.

DLC/promo weapons are not overpowered so you folks worrying about DLC can relax

No. Don't worry, it's balanced well.

What about new Sheps? Do they start at level 1? It's just curiosity now because if they do then there is level scaling. I'm loyal to the Sheps that are with me since ME1 though. =)

You didn't answer the question. =P

Because I love building my chars from scratch? Even if I can and want to import the decisions made in the previous games. I don't know, I could play only a few NG+ on ME2 because it felt weird. Most of my runs, and I had a lot of them, I'd just import my ME1 chars again and even the level 5 start bothered me but not so much.

I will still play with my Sheps if they're level 30. I'm just asking if there is an option to import the decisions but not the level. =)

Technically, you can't, but if you don't allocate your points you're effectively lvl 1. You don't get any passive benefits from leveling up, it's all in your skills.

Question: Is there still the standard option to play "Casual", "Normal"... "Insanity" in regards to combat like in the past games?

I know that ME3 has a system where you can choose Story Mode or Roleplaying or something. I was under the assumption that THESE were the new modes.

Even the demo has it!

There are Modes and there are Difficulty levels. You can combine then, I guess. I'm only going to play on RPG/Insanity.

When you import a game it doesn't ask you for what difficulty you want to play though, so select that in options before starting.

Whoops! Guess I was too excited to realize haha.

I wonder... there's some people saying that there's a lot of auto-dialog in ME3 (or atleast what they've played so far).

I'm curious.. will playing the more story-oriented mode have MORE dialog options available vs. the RPG mode? I want a good mix of story and combat, but would be willing to sacrifice combat for a better story.

I don't know what this "auto dialog" rage is from the people who haven't played the game yet. More whining. It plays like ME2 from a dialog perspective. Does that help?

Yup, it does! I think those complainers are probably just being overly critical about the game. How much time have you put into the story so far, Hammer6767? Are you enjoying? :D

They prolly watched vids of people playing in Action mode... lol

@Muppets - Story Mode means that combat is really easy. You should get the same level of dialogue in RPG but with better challenge on combat. Action is all auto-dialogue but I wouldn't know if it is 100% of it.

I agree with OP, and the fact that the textures are the same.

Other than that, the soundtrack... holy mother of god, I released the most loud squee ever. The music on Mars! :D

And I'm loving the character interactions, so far the hospital scene was so lovely.

It's mainly about how Shepard talks more on his own now, without input from the player. So whereas in ME1/ME2 you might control 80-90 % of what Shepard says, in ME3 the concern is that you only control something like 20-30%, and the rest Shepard just talks on his own.

Yes, generally many things that required player input now are automated.

While speaking to Council there are 2 dialog wheels. Would be nice to someone count how much there was in ME1.

I take it you start from 1 again with the real game?  You cannot bring your MP level character into the full release game?  In Demo I hit N7 level 76...we all start at 1 again?

Yes the hospital scene was great, especially if you have a "history" with that person.

Loving every second.  Fantastic gaming.  Still early.  Been watching the kids the last few hours so no playing.  Soon!
