Male, in N7 customizable gear, Adept. N7 Digital Deluxe.

Same crash happening. Right after the flashback. This game is amazing, but I can't continue it now until this is fixed.

To further add to the crashing saga, I have run into YET ANOTHER repeatable crash...On the Horizon: Sanctuary mission, After you climb the ladder, And you try to go through into the 2nd part of the corridor, Through the already open doorway, It crashes.

Same exact crash details as the DLC flashback issue.

An interesting thing to note: EVERY time the game crashes, After the crash, When I get back to Origin, If I right click on the game and select "Check For Updates" Origin will download the 40.1MB patch AGAIN, EVERY TIME!

How do I prevent the game from crashing after I go and see the signal? I didn't really understand your way.

The only way I can describe it is: Get the pod opening video first, Before the signal video.

Somewhat worked after i disabled all the graphical effects, playing in windowed mode and i pressed esc right after talking to liara. (it was like the 6th time i run the same scene)
I'm playing the origin digital deluxe with a female infiltrator, i've got mostly n7 armor except for the kessa "body".

MY crash same as them; Collectors edition, PC, first mission after Normandy mine. Liara, Vega and Female Shepard.

Exact same crash on my end, too. Got the standard edition (digital) pre-order from origin, and later purchased the DLC separately.

Can't remember what gear I had equipped, though. Squadmates at the time were Liara and Garrus.

EDIT: Doing the cutscenes in reversed order solved the problem for now. Still needs to be aptched, though, since you essentially do the cutscenes in a non-chronological and non-linear fashion.

Seeing as how my thread was locked and i was told to come here, i suppose i will post my problem, albeit different than yours in this thread i am relatively sure.

Basically, after viewing the second video and fighting some cerberus agents on eden prime, i get to a point where i have to go down a ladder to continue, and i cannot go down it. i tried reloading multiple times, my squad can go down the ladder, but everything i try just end up glitching me to the top of the ladder. game does not crash, unless you count me having to reload because i cannot progress.

Lucky that is a ladder glitch from Multiplayer. The only way to fix is restart the mission. Sorry but that the quick fix for now.

Same problem - tried windows mode. lowered graphic quality. human soldier with n7 armor.

I'm tempted to install Windows Vista, And try to play the game in that, Because there was a similar crashing issue with Mass Effect 2+Origin+Windows 7.

You're not the only one having problems at the Eden Prime Mission, that ladder glitch is really a damn bugger isn't it? I've even tried to restart the game, reloading from a save point, and other opitions. Talked with a few of the support members and other people are having issues with this part as well and was told to wait for any information or updates that will help fix that glitch. This means I can't go on any further! D= The game was getting good to!

I got it to were it does not freeze. you have to do things backwards
First get the code to open the pod than get the data to get him out safely it should not freeze upon you

So... after playing the rest of the game for 6+ more hours without issue i decided i really wanted to do the dlc mission and went back, same problem occured... but i mashed my keyboard for like 3 minutes and apparently it decided to work. not the best solution but idk. stupid ladders. And yea, feel you with the reloading/restarting deal. I was pretty excited to get through it though. O.o

Lol to be honest I just did what you did a few minutes back with the keyboard only pressing the keys all at the same time and switched to a different weapon, finally got down the ladder. XD

Ladder bug here too. Smashing keyboard - while strangely satisfying did nothing to fix the problem. Lame, lame, lame.....lets see a fix already. Paid good money for something that obviously is full of bugs. Not amused.

I have not had my my game freeze on me like a lot of you. But I did have trouble getting down the ladder priour to opening the pod. Here is what eventually worked for me.
Go down the ladder holding the forward movement button ("W" in my case) and rapidly pressing the Enter/Return button. If it doesn't work and you are still on the roof, do I again. Using this method, I was finally able to get my character on the ground. Once I hit the ground I saved the game and went back and did it again, but it only worked sporadically. Never on the first time. Hope this helps.

After some time googling and trying the "button mash" method mentioned in this thread (which did not work) someone suggested changing your graphics settings (temporarily). So, I changed my resolution and it worked. I was able to climb down the ladder... save... change resolution back to what I had it at and went on my merry way.
